Alright, fair enough on the point of C&C. With SimCity, though, if the only things wrong are that it's tough to play consistently and it's not as grand as previous titles, I'm not sure that's reason to say the series is ruined. As much as I don't like the idea of always-online-play, at the same time, it won't fully

But are they commercial or critical failures, or failures simply because you don't like what they did with it? I'll certainly agree on Medal of Honor: Warfighter being a downfall to that series (which is disappointing to me, as I much prefer the older MoH games to anything CoD has ever done), and I can't speak on

So which franchises are you referring to? From what I can tell, EA still has a ton of successful IPs being worked on, and the ones I've noticed that HAVE died off weren't developed by just EA, so it's sort of silly to blame a games' or franchises' failure solely on EA.

It was mentioned in the preview article Kotaku ran earlier:

True enough. Though, it seems as though the game will be played from the perspective of an Abstergo employee using the Animus this time around. That actually disappoints me, honestly. I would have much rather seen more of Desmonds' group. Hoping they're still involved somehow.

What I'm interested in is why they're sticking with Desmonds' family line if Desmond is... well, you know. Maybe his father is using the Animus next?

Doesn't it all depend on what the developer is trying to accomplish, though? With Journey, thatgamecompany was clearly telling a story through interpretation and exploration, using your observations to figure it out yourself. And the gameplay was simple, yet still allowed you to experience the entirety of the story

So, based on the comments here, I'll assume I'm in the minority, but I honestly didn't like the naval warfare sections of ACIII. Some of the missions were alright, but far too often the ally AI would run into me, or sail straight into both my and enemy fire, or at times not move at all. The escort missions were all

I don't think Altair was given much of a chance to be developed, honestly. They could have done more with him, but they left all development to the smaller games, like Bloodlines and Altair's Chronicles.

I don't think it's that they fail to give Connor character. I partially agree with Luke's quote, but I wouldn't use lifeless as the right word. Truth be told, Connor's got a strong personality, and some decently spoken lines and moments. The problem is that his character is just entirely unlikable. No matter what

I'd actually disagree with Michaels' statement; I played through a part of Dreamfall first, then found out there was a game before it. So I got a copy of The Longest Journey and played through that, and found that the Dreamfall experience was MUCH better. I knew the locations better, saw more connections, had a deeper

I don't even care how much money Ragnar and Red Thread want, I just want to know what that Longest Journey Home thing is. Though, it looks like it's finally slowed down quite a bit just past the $950000 mark, so I dunno how close it'll get... I just hope it's nothing important, in case that isn't reached.

That was certainly not the Double Fine Adventure. That thing got funded pretty quickly. You're thinking of the Wildman devs. They laid off pretty much everyone, and canceled the Kickstarter 4 days before it would have been funded or not funded, as the case likely would have been.

Well, that's OBVIOUSLY what she'd want him to say... for his own sake... >_>

That's pretty much it in a nutshell. As much as I loved the ideas they used in Liberation, the writing itself was just... awful. It didn't help that the presentation for said writing was sloppy, and half of the voice acting came across as just another line on a script.

To be fair, I think a lot of the thought comes from the way the story itself plays out; the names of locations are merely there to pad the experience. I mean, hell, I don't ever remember Riverwood by its name. I always remember it as "that place with the creepy old house and weird witch-esque goblin lady that tried to

I highly doubt it. It's mostly the same team from the Dreamfall dev team, and they're not releasing the game until at least the latter half of 2014. They've got a ton of time, and it already looks like they've made some great progress.

Considering this is the final Dreamfall title, they'll either return to TLJ with some new subtitle, or use a new name altogether followed by TLJ.

You DO know that Riverwood was a location from the first game back in 1999, right? =P

I think part of that may be caused by the awful sorting that the Play Store has. It does have "top new paid" and "top new free", but unless some new app is among the top downloaded or top selling, you've gotta search for the new app by name. Thing is, if you just wanna look around and see what's there, you really
