I’m confused why this article exists. Working at my family’s collision shop, its not uncommon to have $10, $15, $20k or more repair bills on new vehicles. I laughed out loud at the bold title “wow 17k, shouldnt that be a total?” Industry average is 80% of ACV, so at the bloated msrp of 70k, the repair bill could have

I respectfully disagree with this one. Optimum A/C depends on being exact with your charge weight. Being over or under just 1/4 pound will be enough to not make it properly cold. It should be done by a professional, with a digital charger.

Four weeks? Man that was fast. My car spent 7 weeks at the body shop when it got rear ended by a Bronco at the tender young age of 5 months. The bumper height mismatch meant that my trunk and both rear fenders took the full force of the impact. Total repair cost was $7000 on a $20k car, and that was 20 years ago.

You would have lost that battle. Totaling a truck like that would be over 50 grand compared to 17 to repair. It’s not even close to being totaled.

i thought i read somewhere that audis and bmw high models use aluminum in its structure so its nothing new on the market. how would a large truck be any different?

There needs to be an option for some ridiculous Hellcat graphic pack with WWII noseart-esque large felines or something. But yes, this looks quite good.

If it's still a plastic fantastic car on the inside, I won't buy one. Dodge has probably the worst interior quality from an American car maker. It's sad. I didn't buy a Challenger because I got in and my 5 year old RSX was nicer inside.

Car and Driver has been measuring the 5-60 times of cars since the beginning of time, and since the beginning of time they have always been slower. Even before computerized launch control, every 0-60 time published has used manual launch control (power braking). I believe C&D is the magazine that is the worst at that.

Preferred headline: "Truck drives through Uncanny Valley"

No, it doesn't, because there is no proof that the Lambo was speeding. What there is proof of is that a Mazda pulled out in front of a Lamborghini and the Lamborghini didn't have enough time to stop.

Usually I'm all for calling someone an asshat. Doesn't matter what they've done, or who they are, but in this instance I'd say the asshat mantle is undeserved.

If it rotated a full 360 degrees, how would you know from the chalk marks? ;-)

NYPD: *beats shit out of unruly pedestrians getting in the innocent car's way*

Quite impressive that the glass didn't break. Shows how good airbags are at changing the velocity of objects with out damaging them.

Not the first time Gavino has been featured on Jalopnik. I'm all for more RT and SloMo Guys.

and you lose some of the element of surprise by asking your subject to put on safety glasses....
