We can talk about difficult as an aesthetic choice all we want and I’m down for that discussion (failure and death are big things for FromSoft games) but easy is relative and I place my trust in designers to build these modes such that the particularities they want to stress still exist.. If combat cadence is a design

Add an easy mode and he won’t have to settle for watching someone else have fun, friendo. And the good news is that you don’t lose anything in the process either.

That *is* harsh though because you’re all but asking players with disabilities to go elsewhere. In this example, an easy mode or even a series of toggles that allow players to customize game experiences is about allowing them to participate in that experience. It’s inclusive, and not in the dime-store way that word is

It’s stuff like this that prevents me from entering a competitive environment in any game.

I have, for many years, maintained the truism that fighting with honor creates only a moral obligation to lose. If you cannot sort a route around your opponent’s tactics, that’s on you.  So long as the play was within established

You seem pretty negative, just don’t buy it lol. This obviously isn’t for you, but it’s certainly something I am interested in!

Welcome to Capitalism.

Because, like with most things, China will do it cheaper even after you factor in shipping costs.

just last week kotaku published a story about how ea paid ninja a grand just to stream it,”

I don’t think a “grand” means what you think it means, because Ninja was paid a grand-grand.

The issue is already solved, by players simply choosing to not use all their skill points or constrain themselves to a certain build.

Nope. I like being able to unlock everything. It means that if I find the game is a suddenly a little too difficult for me because I invested too much in the wrong branch of the skill tree, I know that I can fix it with a little grinding instead of starting over.

So the only thing that matters in a game is the endgame? Cool, why even have campaigns at all, then.

I hate that sort of thing, hard choices feel like Catch 22 situations if I can never get everything.

Personally I totally disagree! In non class-based games like Assassin’s Creed, I HEAVILY prefer to be able to unlock all the perks available for that completionist aspect. It’s really frustrating when a game has no intention of giving you enough Points to get them all.

>I’m imaging how boring it must be to play test the game for glitches... “Can I jump off a wall here? No. Can I just off the wall in the space next to it? No. Can I jump off the wall just a little further away? No. Can I jump...”

I must be foolish. I clicked on the article expecting an answer to come after the question.

People have said this about every art style since the dawn of time. There were inevitably cavemen at some point lamenting how the old ways of drawing bison had been lost.

Victim of the infinite scrolling, I see. :P

My understanding is this was supposed to happen a long time ago, and this botched partnership is why it hasn’t happened until just now.

Limited run is know for doing niche/indie titles on niche platforms (vita, Wii u, ECT). Mostly appealing for a demographic of collectors. Seems right up limited runs alley.

Now playing
