I think it really depends on the application, some automakers do it well- (VW/Audi) some don't (Ford). Even though I loved BMW's NA 3.0L I6, the new 2.0T in the 328 does a pretty darn good job of balancing power and MPGs.
It will have a nice stealth factor I'll give you that.
