An ex boss of mine was “data mining” logs, journals, records, crew reports, and news papers for well over 30 years to help reproduce data sets for sea ice extent, iceberg sightings, and ship iceberg collisions. In some cases he managed to get confirm some data sets back 400 years.

"Yesterdays Enterprise" was one of the best stories out of TNG. However, I felt it was more of a "kobayashi maru" exploration of character rather than saving the world.

I live in St. John's. No mean feat to fly a kite on Signal Hill but I'm sure that task was delegated, especially in December. That said I loved the kite work of Marconi and Alexander Graham Bell.
