Anyone who might have qualms about the gameplay would do themselves justice by playing this game on Hard. The tense moments are amplified when you have one shotgun bullet and that’s it. Finding supplies actually matters and running sometimes really is the best option. You know.. Like a good survival horror game.

I refuse to play any game that lets a character I like die. I read spoilers of all games, and if a character I think is a good guy dies* then I refuse to play it. I do the same for movies and tv shows.

It would be more like watching the original Star Wars trilogy, and then watching a separate trilogy told largely from the POV of Darth Vader - including explaining his motivations and background. I started at the top of the metacritic reviews and 2 out of the first 5 English language reviewers that gave it a perfect score were women. I’m not going to go through them all obviously, but it seems praise for the game isn’t solely coming from male reviewers.
