Yeah like how did he cause that explosion?

What are you talking about? Ellie’s murderer? Ellie survives the game. You switch to playing the person who killed Joel. And she has damn good reason to have killed Joel.

i think it’s totally fine for people to primarily seek games that offer escapism. i love those too. for me, though, i also crave games that disorient and fuck with the player, especially when they’re giant AAA titles like this (or Death Stranding last year, for instance). after playing these things for so long, it’s

I really like it. It does the thing a lot of games do where tall grass keeps you hidden, but only somewhat so. Enemies are more likely to detect your movement in the grass and will spot you without having to get overly close. In most stealth games, they are areas on the map where you can feel totally safe from

Anyone who might have qualms about the gameplay would do themselves justice by playing this game on Hard. The tense moments are amplified when you have one shotgun bullet and that’s it. Finding supplies actually matters and running sometimes really is the best option. You know.. Like a good survival horror game.

Why would I want to try to escape reality into an objectively worse one.

Alright, finished ‘er—here’s some spoiler free thoughts on #thelastofuspart2 a game which is ostensibly a game an exploration of trauma and circular emotional and physical abuse, both on the micro and macro scale.

Nothing wrong with escapism, but I hope video games can do better than just escapism. This game literally made me cry over a number of points, it was definitely not “KILL DOGS LOL.

I’ve really been enjoying this game a lot. My biggest gripe is partly my problem and partly the games problem. I like to explore every nook and cranny I can when I play a game like this. Unfortunately there have been a few rooms that I have gone in to in which a combat encounter or cut scene takes place, once it’s

“They ruined the experience!”

- Sincerely, a person who read the spoilers and didn’t experience the game in the way it was meant to be played.

I’m sorry (no I’m not), but I fucking love this game. I'm a very empathetic person, and I love that this game can make me feel what Ellie's feeling so *strongly*.

I’m predicting Tommy DLC for TLOU2. Just like with Ada in RE4. We get to play as Tommy and see from his perspective what he did lol.

I mean, that actually sounds like a fantastic narrative choice to me. Death and investment are not exclusive. Arbitrarily extending lifespans to avoid a conclusion has killed more character interest than a good death ever has.

Protip: Alt-righters are gonna call you a SJW cuck for playing it, and the more performative leftists are gonna call you an amoral shitbag for enjoying it.

I refuse to play any game that lets a character I like die. I read spoilers of all games, and if a character I think is a good guy dies* then I refuse to play it. I do the same for movies and tv shows.

It would be more like watching the original Star Wars trilogy, and then watching a separate trilogy told largely from the POV of Darth Vader - including explaining his motivations and background. But they wouldn’t do that, and hordes of ravenous fanboys would never proclaim such a hypothetical trilogy as masterpieces

I started at the top of the metacritic reviews and 2 out of the first 5 English language reviewers that gave it a perfect score were women. I’m not going to go through them all obviously, but it seems praise for the game isn’t solely coming from male reviewers.

Do you think Cyberpunk is going to be sunshine and rainbows? Lol.

You haven’t even played the game and you hope its a “HUGE commercial flop,” that people actually lose their jobs, based on one contrarian review? You do realize it’s being universally praised pretty much everywhere else, particularly for its story, which is described as being far more nuanced than this review implies.

LOL yeah right, Resident Evil 3 remake focused on an outbreak and it sold really well, if you’ve seen how excited people are on Reddit about this game you’d know it’s going to sell like crazy, people like automatically assume everyone else thinks exactly like you do, pandemic media is doing gangbusters right now so
