FYI Anthem’s awards were entirely preview / E3 based, i.e. “game of show.” It didn’t win anything after release.

TLOU2 on the other hand, won hundreds after release. Not a fair comparison.

Rather than get into the weeds discussing a nearly 2 year old game’s merits, I will just note that the game doesn’t suggest pregnant women are more sympathetic, SOCIETY does. That’s not a novel concept Druckmann imagined up for the game. 

I’m not sure about “plenty” but there certainly was “some.” That doesn’t really diminish the fact that the game was quite well received critically - it not only has a high review aggregate score but also received hundreds of awards.

Totally agree. It’s still stunning to me that a AAA game from a major publisher was allowed to do and say the things that game does and says. Incredible that Naughty Dog had the guts to do it and that Sony had the guts to trust them on it.

What’s truly nuts is if he had taken the pandemic seriously from day 1 and kept our numbers lower, he’d have won re-election. We live in an insane time. 

Except Druckmann was the narrative lead on the first game and the second game, co-written by him, was very well received critically despite a vocal internet faction. The story was created by him as well, he brought it to ND. 

And even if he truly needs someone to keep him reigned in, he has that in the form of Mazin…

That’s fair. There’s no denying there also needs to be additional hiring as well. I just focused my post on the pay for existing employees.

This is what I’m saying. Nowhere did I say everyone should abandon their family for a job that overworks them lol. Many people don’t have kids and want to make and save more money in their 20s.

Agree, every project is different and all of them can teach you things that work and don’t work. Post Mortems should be standard.
