I’ve had my Twitter account locked for days at a time for far less than what they continually allow him to get away with (stuff like using particularly salty language against people who deserved i haha). I can’t say I trust Twitter to do the right thing here, but maybe.

I think we should stop trying to decide if things are art or not because literally everything that’s created using creativity of any sort is “art.”

Yes, even that cookie cutter studio sports game that required animators and artists to flesh out the characters. Yes, even that child’s finger-painting of a blob with his

I guess I bumped up against the word “legitimate” as implying if a complaint is legitimate, the praise can’t be also legitimate. Like I’m not sure a thing can be “legitimately” great AND also “legitimately” problematic.

But I’m overthinking it, I guess.

I think that the fact that players felt worse at the end means the game did its job, personally.

A lot of games want to talk about violence and mercy and revenge, few actually make the player feel anything about it, IMO.

I see a lot of people talk about Far Cry 3 as having tread similar thematic ground (some even saying

Exactly. What they’re asking for is a game that makes them feel better about their favorite character’s (and to an extent their own) choices. A game that absolves them of any actually evaluation of her (and their) actions.

The game, thankfully, has no interest in providing either.

Exactly. The story made you mad? Or upset? Sounds like it worked.

But my intention isn’t to get you to agree with me, I’m just trying to explain that some people have legitimate criticisms of the game, even if you don’t agree with them. It’s not simply “not our cup of tea.”

I think the game only tries to make you feel guilty for these actions if you celebrated doing them.

I think the vast majority of players, myself included, were VERY willing to slaughter Abby’s friends after what she did. Yes, it felt a little gross, but they deserved it, right?

If you were against Ellie’s quest from the

Absolutely agree. I’ve seen some people suggest the story would have worked better with a different structure, but I completely disagree. You HAVE to go with Ellie on her rampage first because she doesn’t have the benefit of context or hindsight. The game wants you to hate along with Ellie, delight in her kills, be

I think it was really gutsy of them to allow Ellie to be come a villain in this one, knowing it would evoke a lot of negative emotions from gamers who love the character. I’m glad they did it anyway, because it was a realistic direction for them to take her and it made sense for her character, despite how hard it was

I agree. It’s definitely possible to dislike this game on its merits, but so many seemingly “good faith” critiques of it end up unraveling into unsavory garbage under even a little scrutiny. And more often than not, they’ve never even played the game!

So, you didn’t play it, I guess? Everyone is changed by the end, so not sure what you’re even talking about?

Also, stories don’t have to end “better” than they began to be good, you know?

Also the idea that nobody grew... I mean did they even play this game?? EVERYONE is changed in meaningful ways by the end.

Well deserved. It really is one of the most intense, emotional and best-looking games of this generation and I will never understand the visceral hate some people have for it. It’s as though people who didn’t like it can’t just shrug it off, they have to fucking HATE it. I think that’s partially because the game isn’t

As someone who did NOT upgrade to a PSPro, my seven year old PS4 was showing its age and it made the upgrade to 5 an easy decision. Only just set it up, but so far I like it. It really is just a more polished and powerful PS4 though, so I don’t expect it to be life changing. It’s just nice to finally have these games

This is that same shot on Ps5. A bit better.

I ordered it, but I do wish there were bigger launch titles.

Sounds right - I’m playing with RTX off and having zero issues.

Yeah I’ve got a PS5 preordered and I thought the tweet was funny...

While I love GAY BOWSER, this struck me as more of a terrible italian accent mistake on the part of the voice actors than anything.

Like “So Long-ay Bowser!”
