I'm sure the processing power that controls emotions will be conveniently hosted 'in the cloud', thus requiring an always-on connection to play the game.

I thought that was weird too that they would have the car customization stuff in when you don't need them, but then I realized they're building on the old game, so there's no reason to take it out. This way people who enjoy driving still can. More stuff = gooder.
