Why would it be? You're not creating an instanced session on their servers each time you play. You're only hitting a login server so it can keep track of what drops in your game, so you can't get away with duping items to sell on their auction house.

Try the mod Prophecies of Pendor, it gives you a reason to play. Quests, story, hundreds of new units/weapons, etc.
