A lot of people don’t realize how huge the bumps are when you are that deep into the curbing. What the F1 car is doing would break suspension components on a modern sports car.

I toured the Ferrari plant last year and saw one of their robots putting valve guides in V6 Ghibli heads. It may not be hand built, but it does occur in Italy.
My Ghibli has been completely trouble free. My CTS-V has is currently in the shop for a warranty head replacement. Both have similar mileage, and have about the same amount of track use.
