Still live with your folks? What kind of bubble do you live in? This isn't about middle class 20 somethings. 35k is the median income for the district. You can be surprised by that but you can't deny that it's the reality.

Because a high cost of living is better than being unemployed. I don't know about NYC but DC has a ton of white collar jobs that were largely unaffected by the recession. When I lived there I knew a lot of people who would have liked to move back tot heir home state but job options being what they are, people settled

Honestly, accepting Medicaid expansion would be great first step. Even bigots dying out in droves is unlikely to have a significant impact if the devastating poverty isn't addressed. Medicaid expansion won't fix that but it's a step in the right direction.

I'm due any day and my husband has been consistently frustrated by how everything is addressed to and aimed at "mom." A lot of what's out there that is aimed at fathers is very dudebro.

When I'm confused about a tradition in another country I google it before asking a question. And while you could have phrased it as a simple question you chose not to. You phrased in a nasty, judgmental way. You were so sure that the Aussie way was the right way that you mocked 100+ years of American traditions. How

It's not that MoCo is awesome, it's just insanely rich. Not really the same thing.

Except that those are no guarantee and often get cut at the last minute forcing students to drop or take high interest loans... Bright Futures has probably screwed over more kids than it's helped.

Wow, that's some nasty classist bullshit you're churning out.

Any decent kindergarten teacher is going to try to teach the kids the difference between tattling and reporting. Tattling is often used as a bullying tactic at that age and shouldn't encouraged but that's very different than teaching them not to report an actual incident.

If you actually go to the SSA website and check the history of Kale you can see that it appears to be falling off the top 1,000 after peaking in 2008. This story is 5 years late.

I love Mary Janes. If I could only have one non-chocolate candy for the rest of my life it would be Mary Janes. I am under 30.

I also felt inexplicably sad but I live in the valley so maybe that's it.

Sort of... the first movie is more "inspired by" the books than based on them. They departed from the source material so much in the first movie I can't imagine that the second one will have anything to do with the books.

Straight, white teeth are major class thing in the US. Only people can afford them have them. It adds an extra level of awfulness to all the snark about her teeth.

Michelle Duggar has spoken publicly about having uterine prolapse with Josie, her last one. She has different genes but she's still the same species. She has more than twice as many kids as your family member.

She's publicly talked about the uterine prolapses and preeclampsia at the very least. Although she was discussing how they made her later pregnancies "miracles" rather than medically inadvisable.

I shampoo and then do the vinegar. I only let it sit for a minute. I don't condition afterwards but that that might be specific to my hair.

That sounds more like seborrhea than dandruff. I have mild seborrhea and a watered down apple cider vinegar rinse works better for me than anything I prescribed. I use a little squeeze bottle and fill it a little less than halfway with ACV and the rest of the way with water. Then I just squirt it at the problem areas

Those are soooo good. They're not the Aldi's store brand, though. You can get them at pretty much any grocery store.

$125k is still a lot of money for someone who was probably making less than $15/hr.
