Yep that was the name of her tour for her last album, it is annoying that Jezebel does not call out Miley and Gaga for using that term but i am not surprised seeing that they have used the term gypped in the past and Doug has used the term gypsy a few times, this site is pretty racist against us.
Ugh at Miley naming her last tour gypsy heart tour, white Americans need to know that using that term is offensive and racist, also they need to know that term refers to different ethnic groups and their white privileged asses will never be "gypsies".
THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME I HAVE BEEN TOLD THIS. :D
Is anyone else just wowed by his fantastic, sweet, humorous attitude? To hell with the dicks, I just want to high-five this guy.
I can understand the frustration of people who are feeling directly attacked by the #solidarityisforwhitewomen hashtag - and for better or worse, I have seen it used as a weapon. I'm not really sure what the answer is, other than "not that hashtag." (Alienation of allies is a real threat, and when I've seen other…
Does this person not realize that her being Irish is not a problem in our euro-centric American society? The reason why minorities talk about the past is because the racism that started in the past still effects us in the present. If he doesn't want to care about his history, he has every right to, BUT minorities have…
That hash tag makes me seethe because it's filled with misunderstandings and ignorance. WOC ARE fighting for unity. The problem is that too many white feminists don't want to take the time to listen to woc when we express concern about something that involves racism. Who the fuck are they to tell woc to unite? Hell,…
Can we also just say giant, loving kudos to his mom/parents for NOT altering his body when he was a baby? ♥ It's probably a big reason why he seems to have a pretty healthy outlook and acceptance/celebration of himself.
Eta: apparently starting with # makes the font really big from my phone.
The point, it seems to be escaping you. Unity is great. Less great is a hashtag that pooh-poohs concern and critical discussion about the ways in which racism perpetuates even among people who think of themselves as well-meaning.
Unity is a nice goal in theory. In practice unity means the silencing of dissent. Dissent and disagreement are normal, healthy things that should be allowed to exist in any political movement. It's how we learn from one another and grow as people and activists.
Asking for unity without addressing inequality is not unity. It's easing the fears of a privileged group who find themselves slightly uncomfortable.
You're right, it does seem to focus on that. But I know many people who have worked in hospitals and EMTs, and they've described the logistical difficulties of working with very obese patients, from stretchers that can't support them to MRIs that are too small to all kinds of other little things like blood pressure…
I think this was done to make them understand that of the things they ask their patients to do- such as lie down on the table, get comfortable in a chair, or take blood pressure- are hard for their obese patients. It's not so much "understand what it's like to be fat" it's "understand that some of what you assume your…
I also like how it's pretty much a blatant admission that her sentencing is being used to set an example. Not that I think she should be sentenced more or less, but I think it's bold to admit & seems unfair... "The world is watching, and this sentencing presents an important opportunity to send a strong message to…
Mean while banksters, who worked with the drug cartels and terrorists are still above the law.
If an upside-down, chandelier-hanging wedding cake is wrong, I don't want to be right.
Here's how fucked up Chechen history is: They've been fighting off the Russian Empire since Peter the Great, and following Czars waged terror campaigns against the Chechens, with generals like Alexei Yermolov, a true bastard.
