REBECCA ROSE?!?

Oh, for god's sake, you fuck new people with the same genitals, don't you? And you can't fucking sterilize those!

I hate the concept of a guy asking a girl's father if he can marry her. Everyone asks me if my hubby asked my dad "for my hand." Fuck no! I'm a grown-ass woman I don't need permission to marry someone!

So on the Consulate list of questions that may be asked to my fiancé when he's getting his VISA interview is what happened when he asked my father for permission to marry me.

THIS IS SO SO AWESOME.

My pastor told us the day we met him, "Your ceremony is up to you, but if you want me to ask who gives the bride away, you're going to have to find another church. Women aren't property."

No, we can't call a moratorium on what other people do with their bodies.

Bodysnarking dudes is a shitty thing to do. Also,. last time I checked facial hair doesn't have it's own personality.

Yeah, I agree it sounds pretty harsh out of context, but there could be a thousand ways the quote on its own is misleading. Maybe everyone involved lives within a couple miles of each other and the kids see their dads plenty, even if they sleep at their mom's house. Maybe Kate meant she doesn't believe in the kind of

During my parents' split, my dad launched a full-on battle for custody of his three daughters. He lived in a one-bedroom apartment and had a rich, swinging bachelor lifestyle. My mom replied, "sure, take them," aaaaaand that was where his battle plan faltered.

I think a disturbing number of people create custody battles not because they want to have time with their children, but as a way to get money/save money, as you said, and to hurt their exes. And I'm including mothers in this sad mess too.

As an attorney, let me tell you something the MRAs are not going to say: a HUGE number of the fathers who seek shared or total custody do it because they want to pay less child support. Then they dump the kid with their mom or even a sitter because they would rather pay a stranger than their ex.

People whose business it is who Kate Winslet's children live with:

"Mothers always get custody" is a common MRA talking point, but if you look at the data about cases where fathers actually seek custody, the numbers are pretty equal. I'm willing to bet the fathers are perfectly happy with their level of access.

If Kate Winslet's children and their fathers are all happy with the arrangement, then it's no one's business. If one of the fathers wanted to be more involved, his child felt the same way, and Kate Winslet was obstructing that somehow, I might be mildly concerned.

In addition to what MyOcean said, the advice is also pretty incomplete, at least the way it is usually given. While a lot of sexual assaults happen when the person is falling-down drunk at a party, a lot of assaults also happen after she's had a few glasses of wine over a long dinner with someone she thought she could

Because boys and men aren't told the same thing with the same amount of emphasis that whatever happens to them while intoxicated is THEIR FAULT NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENED TO THEM.

I really don't know what I was expecting. Not.. that.

I was visiting my aunt in Europe (she lives in the Netherlands) when that happened, I had just turned 15 years old. We went to London and it was the first time I ever saw a machine gun the SAS was all over Heathrow. We were watching the BBC in the hotel and they showed the gate area in NY where the flight was

I was in Germany recently and under a street sign for "Adolfstrasse" there was a little sign explaining that it had been named after a local hero in the late 1800s, i.e. "not that Adolf, guys".
