OH MY SWEET MOTHER OF MOFFAT!
Someone tell Disney interactive to put a lot of effort into getting Studio Ghibli levels/properties in the game. Not only would that be fucking awesome, but I think it could really happen if they tried. I know Disney doesn't actually own Ghibli or the properties, but they seem to have a good working relationship, and…
That's what's awesome about the remix editions; the people who didn't own the portable systems will still get to enjoy the games and really get into the story of these entries.
this! nintendo's policy is broken. locking games to a system vs account is idiocy that should have been rectified long ago.
There's definitely a tongue in there somewhere.
I got into a little agrument with some friends a few nights ago on whether I should get a taxi home or not. Unless one of us is unable to walk, I would never get a taxi because I live in a perfectly safe, overpriced middle class town. I completely understand someones decision to get home the safest way possible but I…
So I work in advertising, and this one time I worked on a commercial featuring a bunch of kids. The day before shooting, we went through the kids' wardrobe. One t-shirt that the stylist picked out had a swastika on it.
SEE WHAT I'M SAYING??
I am offended that you assumed that I will be offended by this :)
People get upset about...everything these days. Just playing it safe! >_>
He or she is not missing the point. No one is obligated, as a human being, to "speak up" or "correct" anyone. That is purely totalitarian nonsense. This is not that complicated, respect others and the freedom and space of others, regardless of race, gender, or religion. Stop generalizing, stop spewing biased, hateful…
Here is one thing I don't understand: men commit acts of violence against other men more than anyone else. Shouldn't men be afraid of being murdered at night? 76.8% of murder victims are men. I have a hard time believing that basic assaults (not sexual, just general violent assault) happen more to women more than men…
Patriarchy hurts everyone and it truly sucks. I worry about my sons because they are on the small side. One is also very bookish and sensitive, his teasing radar is off so he takes a lot to heart- which is not good when you are a pre-teen boy. Teasing is how pre-teen boy friendships operate. I honestly have more…
Well as a man, I'll put out there that a lot of my personal defensiveness on this issue is simply because I don't want women to be justified in being afraid of me, simply because I am one.
I think that many men are just offended when people imply or sometimes even openly group them with the people responsible for recent tragedies and others like them just because they are all of the same gender.
I'm not afraid of men, not at all. What I am very afraid of is a system that silences and punishes women when they are molested or assaulted. That's why the reaction some people have to #yesallwomen is scary. When they dismiss or attack #yesallwomen, they are promising that they will never help us when we need help.
I've responded a few other places in the thread so forgive me if this is repetitive.
I was not alone. I had a few friends and an uncle that were entirely supportive. But I felt as if no one that could do anything would believe me, and unfortunately the burden of proof was on me. And believe me, what my parents had said…
No it is not our responsibility to use our power to protect women, it is our responsibility to give up privilege, rather than defending it in name of chivalry.
