“We ordered tack and sack flour and they send us a barrel of cured Arnheim!”
Even in the games (my only reference point) Yenn is both possessive and strangely dismissive of Geralt. I felt like it suited the vibe of the cruel and capricious world that the games strive to create for the player, even down to the beautiful facade that the sorceresses all seem to wear.
Username checks out; i think it maybe tried to riff on my statement, but all that came out was keyboard diarrhea. Anyone got a chud-to-English dictionary?
I generally have a hard time with “evil” playthroughs ... but combat as a vampire should not feel like pawing at your face with a damp bit of cloth.
They’re waging a war on our family and culture.
I knew there was a reason I liked you. Geralt and Yennifer’s relationship just seems so very toxic to me. She doesn’t treat him like an equal partner at all. And then you find out they’re only together because of a magic wish? Ick.
I feel the need to point out that the person you’re speaking to isn’t discussing this subject with you in good faith. They’re very much attempting to conflate the topic of artistic body painting with porn.
You’re talking to someone who spammed “Kotaku is too sexy, stick to games!” awhile back.
“ I was a teenager in the 90s”
If it were, I imagine you’d be seeing an awful lot of classical paintings and sculptures covered up or hidden behind age-check verification procedures; nobody seems to worry about “the kids” entering the Louvre, after all.
Feikörperkultur would drive America crazy.
literally this, I was in like 4th grade or fifth grade, my friends and I were riding our bikes along a wooded area. We found a pile of old playboys just lying on the side of the road. We snapped those things up lickety splits. The good ol’ 80s
I shouldn’t have had this much fun constructing a straw-man argument, but the sad fact is that the straw man is really just an amalgamation of the many ‘actual” arguments I’ve seen made in various articles of this nature.
To agree with, and add to, your point, I often wonder why people are so adamant about “you wouldn’t want kids to see this, would you?” when it comes to a female twitch streamer.
...and getting ahold of porn was not difficult
GOT ONE!
There’s nothing inherently sexual about the human body, tbh. A lot of what we consider to be provocative/taboo, in terms of nudity, comes from like hundreds of years of misogyny, religious conservatism, and the outright anxieties both men and women have about their own bodies.
100% this
The people who make the most noise the most are the ones who probably beat off to porn multiple times a day. My theory is that they don’t want to see women actually making money off of their beauty or feeling in control of how they market themselves in any way because it reminds these basement dwellers of the fact…
