I get more of the impression that you willfully accept ignorance. Just because you don’t directly deal with customers, doesn’t mean there is not any work that you might have to do even on holidays. Are you buying online instead? Also, is Black friday even an official holiday ? And what about other kinds of businesses…

Because closed doors are a perfect indicator that nobody must be working?

Just because the doors closed doesn’t mean that nobodys working. And what are you doing on non holidays? Is it okay to shop in said stores then? Basically saying “Yes you are an evil corporation and I will not support you ... for today. But tomorrow everything is fine and I will buy your stuff”
