You really think Sony targeted the average gamer? Nope, sorry to dissapoint you. Sony knew very well that this device is first and foremost meant for the enthusiastic early adopter. If they targeted the average gamer, they would’nt have had such a hard time to let supply meet demand.

That’s to be expected, since it’s launch window included the Holiday season which always makes the most importatnt for consumer electronics. I expect that Sony will try to push PSVR together with the PS4pro in a Bundle to fight X1X for the next holiday season
