It is optimal when under certain engineering constraints such as trying to get wheelbase, cost, and interior space all to their maximum efficiency.

All the people 'dissing on FWD I don't think fully understand the engineering dynamics behind FWD, wheel base, and weight placement. A FWD car equipped with a well setup differential (usually torsen) and proper setup suspension is very fast. Anybody who watches BTCC or WTCC knows that FWD is simply different, not…
He said new car not necessarily new engine. Besides that a new chassis means better suspension, better torsional rigidity, stronger bits, etc.
I think you miscalculated slightly because the repairs still don't match the depreciation rate.
Swap the recaros for a quaife/helical diff. and I believe the FiST comes out ahead. Aside from that you never mentioned the mileage on the m3 (unless I missed it my bad) which is quite a factor in the decision. With no options you may have enough left over for not just the diff., but factory ford bilstein front coils…
I've been unimpressed with many Chrysler products but at the same time the one's I disliked were just work horses and their stuff that is jalop-oriented is actually quite good. I've never owned one but while not really loving the brand itself, I've never written off buying something that was cool from them. The…
This is what I say - stick them in a shifter or even TaG kart. Chances are they'll quickly agree.
I initially disliked the Ferrari FF, but after just a few months of hearing of it I really started to like it. The How-It's-Made show did an episode on the FF and I loved the construction. A really trick all-wheel drive Ferrari I think would be pretty cool.
As well as a rear LSD. I've looked into the 128i and as far as I know it is very difficult to install an aftermarket differential due to something to do with it being welded in.
"better than a conventional automatic" - exactly. i'd rather a manual, but a cvt is fine if its not made to emulate gear as you stated.
Happens literally all the time. Not news.
You can for sure get 2 races out of them and after they're no good for racing you can use them for practice sessions for quite some time.
Don't by an S-class if you want simple engineering. I think you're missing the point.
This means that you'll no longer be able to buy that weird 2.5-liter inline-five that Volkswagen still manages to sell a ton of to people for reasons passing understanding.
Learn to economics.
Meanwhile I can use the same ps3 wheel for the ps4 and not spends hundreds of dollars on a new wheel, because Sony is cool like that.
I totally forgot the front diff. is always coupled in a haldex AWD system, so the max split would always be 50:50, so probably the same deal as the last R.
I just hope that I can get a haldex controller for this one, and lock the bias at the rear. I know to some extant you can do this with the current one, but I'm unaware what the limits of it are (including burning up the rear diff. maybe?) If anybody knows weigh in.
Haha, listened to She Knows this morning. It's a good album.
British Racing Green Everything. If it's an option on a car, I'm getting it.
