It doesn’t, but some of these people do go out of their way to be hateful despite protesting the contrary. I know, I live with someone like that. The whole “I’m not racist,” or “I’m not anti-immigrant,” but then proceeds to ask current tenants if their upcoming trip to Mexico will be to smuggle their relatives across

I don’t know what Rowling spends her money on, but the founder and leaders of Chik Fil A actively, willingly, and happily spend their money on donations to organizations whose sole purpose is to lobby for stripping away the rights of members of the LGBTQ+ community. That is what makes them hateful.

Damn you, tempting devil-sandwich.

I know I will get hate for this. Why does someone believing differently than you make them hateful. I don’t agree with them, I was raised reading the same bible and learned you are supposed to spread the word of God through love, compassion, and self sacrifice. Also he with no sin cast the first stone.

It’s not a matter of differences in belief, it’s a matter of what those beliefs are and how they inform peoples words and actions.

They’re using the Wizarding World license. It’s not on this story but it details how much of her money from comes from other licensed items like theme parks (https://www.forbes.com/sites/hayleycuccinello/2017/06/19/how-j-k-rowling-earned-95-million-in-a-year/)

I’m going to give you the benefit of the doubt that you’re not trying to be confrontational.

Restricting the rights and opportunities of others based on gender identity is the opposite of love, compassion and self sacrifice.

Because they believe I’m not entitled to the same rights as straight/cis people. Ask any person who’s ever faced discrimination from religion, “Love the sinner, hate the sin” is an excuse used to pretend hateful people are still good, nothing more.

The different views aren’t really the problem but viewing those people as less than human or at least not-equal is where the problem comes in. It leads to actual harm for the groups.

“They can also select “witch” or “wizard” for their character, which will affect their Hogwarts dorm and how other characters address them.”

They are hateful because of the particular view they have and not simply because they disagree with me.

“I like pie” vs. “I don’t like pie”: Perfectly acceptable difference of opinion, but you would be dead wrong to not like pie and you should feel bad.

“Transpeople are human beings and while I don’t understand it,

One of the many, many advantages of physical media over digital is that I can buy a used copy of any game I want without having to worry about my money going towards certain people or companies that I’d rather not support.

If you actively spend your money, time, fame and reach to make life worse for people around you, then that's not a "difference of opinion."

You’re right, people believing differently than you doesn’t make them hateful. Too bad that’s not the argument I was making.

Yep. I appreciate the developers of this game have probably poured a lot of effort and attention into this game, but setting aside the limitations of this trans-inclusive option there’s really no way to divorce it from the bigotry of its creator. Buying the game is only going to amplify that, and cancel out the stabs

I love Chick-fil-A sandwiches to death, being from the South.

I don’t defend every actor who has a meltdown on set but when you look further into a lot of the stories behind them you find out sometimes its not just an asshole actors fault.

Years ago I recall Joss Whedon saying that Xander was really his voice in Buffy.  Given how much of a shitty person Xander was on the show, I think maybe we should have figured this all out sooner

Well, now Cordy’s death makes complete sense. Because at the time, it was the most WTF moment on the show ever. Especially with the Cordy/Angel romance that was being developed since the third season.
