@Leanid: Most people I've met and befriended through MMOs were met through grouping with them, co-operating as a team and chatting with them on our way to the next mission/battle/wherever. I haven't played too many recent MMOs so I don't know what that situation is like now, but I know that when I played FFXI there

@Stradigos: I haaated that show. Even to my young child's mind, the colours really offended my artistic OCD. Who on earth approved the colour palettes?! *forehead pulses*

@Guitarzan2k5: Thanks for the Tex Murphy mention, I've been waiting for a deal on GOG for them! Would have missed it otherwise.

@Methusalah: Good, I could NEVER get used to the sideways-DS holding. And I played a LOT of Brain Age (Virus Buster, or whatever that was called).

@kNZA: I'm really confused, because I own three 360s (don't ask) and none of them make any noticeable noise at all - excepting when I play Fallout 3, for some reason that game makes the 360 emit the occasional whirr. One of the 360s is in my bedroom and I often leave it on overnight - never really noticed it.

@Evdor: I liked The Bouncer :(

@DashTheHand: I totally agree. I LOVED Final Fantasy XI except for the mind blowing grind and the lack of community I felt with my fellow players. At first it was kind of neat getting to meet and interact with people who spoke a different language - particularly cool for me as a Japanese language student - but it

Wait wait wait, is The Witcher 2 being released on consoles or not? I LOVED the first one, it was one of the most satisfying RPGs I've ever played, and possibly the only one in which I truly felt my actions affected the world around me, despite so many other RPGs touting that experience.

@Christopher Jones: Having subscribed to a lot of MMORPGs, I had become quite certain that once a credit card passes its expiry date and is not updated on the account with a new one, the subscription ceases to become active. This has happened with maybe six or seven MMOs?

@SpikeLives: For a $150 peripheral, I think it's an understandable concern that you may not be able to play a game for 'extended' periods of time. It's great to get up and move around - though I think if you're going to do that you're better off going outside - but for such a high price it would be nice to get a lot

@dacling: I imagine the fact that (I assume) they've been working on Kinect for years now and there's only 5 months left until release is a worrying issue to many informed gamers. It takes time not only to program things, but to test them, and 5 months can be a pretty short amount of time when we're talking about new

This was the *only* revealed Kinect game that got me even somewhat excited. Surprisingly, my boyfriend - who walked past the trailer as I was watching it - was the one who said, "You know we'll be getting that". As a non-casual, non-dancing gamer, I thought it was pretty cool that Dance Central looked interesting

@Josh: I'm with everyone else. My female opinion: unattractive white guys can become pretty attractive if they can bust a move ;)

@Guitarzan2k5: You're absolutely right. I thought the exact same thing when I read some of these comments. I grew up in a poor, single-parent household but both me and my brother were 'gamers' from a young age and my mom did everything possible to make sure we were up to date with our friends on the 'latest and

If they released a new Monkey Island that looked like that... I might even forgive the inevitable awful gameplay and lack of charm that would accompany it. I LOVE that art style.

@dormin: About a year ago I played The Dig for the first time. I thought it was charming, but average. This coming from a huuuge adventure gamer who loves the classics more than anything. I wouldn't call it lame, but definitely didn't _love_ it.

Reallyyy hope that sunburst orange isn't just the lighting. I generally don't like the colour orange, but that is hot, and a +1 purchase if it's as snazzy as it looks in that picture.

@W10002: I own, and have always owned, all major consoles/portables produced by Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo (barring Sony's PSP). I can't say I prefer one brand over the other, but judging by this gen, I'd probably choose Xbox 360 as a favourite, followed by the Playstation 3, with the Wii lagging behind.

@Dayvie: The first level of Mickey's Wild Adventure for PSX was a Steamboat Willie stage, cow and all. That what you were thinking of?

"It's interesting watching others follow our lead."
