A lot of comments here seem to have missed that.
Someone else pointed out that in 2013 Cosby was still doing late night talk shows and had a stand up special. Do you think the talk show hosts are horrible people? Or is it possible they just weren’t aware of something that wasn’t common knowledge yet.
This is stupid. I mean, you might be right and that’s where the internet or society at large is at now. But I’m not going to say “that doesn’t seem likely, but lets say it happened anyway because it makes the bad guys look worse.” Neither should you.
Like I said, I might be wrong maybe, but it seems more likely that it was some weird inside joke about sweaters and ugly carpeting than that not a single person in that picture objected to the idea of posing with a photo of Cosby because he was an awesome rapist as they aspired to be.
Dude just go plug “Bill Cosby” and “Bill Cosby rapist” into Google trends. This just wasn’t really being talked about before 2014.
No one in fall of 2013 holding a picture of Bill Cosby could possibly be confused about the message they were sending.
I’m not defending the behavior outlined in the lawsuit, not in the least. I think Blizzard deserves to pay big time if they ignored the actions outlined. But Cosby was not a well know rapist in 2013 and his sweaters were kind of a joke and a meme at the time. Yes, there had been some blind items and the settlement,…
It’s easy to say that now, but for many people it was Hannibal Buress who put the spotlight on Cosby in 2014. There are ‘industry’ open secrets, and ‘public’ open secrets, and even if we want to generous, it wasn’t until at least 2006 when it was really blowing up.
I think the Cosby Suite thing is not enough to fixate in and of itself in light of all the other testimonies about terrible things. Looking back, while there were allegations against him in 2006, the floodgates on Cosby really opened up in 2014, which would be one year after these pictures.
First off: Yes. Alex Afrasiabi is a sexual predator with numerous complaints against him. Charges should be pressed and there should be consequences for his actions. Yes. Those group chat screenshots are chock full of toxicity. There are terrible off color jokes that are made in poor taste. Saying such things…
You could certainly be confused in fall of 2013. Bill Cosby’s fall from grace happened at the end of 2014 (prompted by a Hannibal Buress clip going viral, of all things). Bill Cosby was still putting out comedy specials at the end of 2013 and generally thought of as an adorable elderly figure, going on the talk show…
You: you’re the reason he’s in trouble!
I specifically said nothing about his race on purpose, because it doesn’t matter in the least. Best actor for the part, as always, is the approach I want every casting director to take. I do not care about the show changing his race. Having someone as dope as Lace Reddick playing the character is the one thing that…
I love how the article tries to insinuate that it was terrible that she took a week to respond to this manufactured controversy. Y’all ought to be ashamed of yourselves.
Yeah, I get that it isn’t supposed to be used commercially, but the book description doesn’t make that obvious at all.
I think that’s a very convenient misinterpretation of a straight forward question, especially after the fact and when the person in question describes her own channel as “like Man v. Food” and “travels the country to take on various eating challenges”.
I can’t condone the behaviour of the people who got upset by someone’s feelings being hurt and responding by trying to completely ruin a family’s business and the livelihood of all the employee’s. Plus the harassment. I can’t justify a misunderstanding and completely rudeness being met with this type of backlash.…
Remember kids, video game developers are not about your fun...they are about your wallet.
How many stores give anything to charity? Even if Humble reduced the amount you could donate, something is still better than nothing. People really need to take a step back and reconsider their all-or-nothing mentality because it’s getting pretty silly.
