I've had minor oil seepage from the valve cover gasket on my 328i for the entire time I've owned it (~9 months). The thing is, it isn't losing enough oil to actually matter, so I don't think of it as a pressing maintenance issue. It does cause little drops of oil to land on the exhaust manifold, releasing noxious

My marine biologist gf has informed me that the turtle probably thought the rising clusters of air bubbles from the respirator were big, tasty jellyfish (apparently things eat jellyfish, and those things include sea turtles). That turtle was just looking for a snack.

Alpine A310, anybody?

Perhaps you would prefer this Lounge designed by acclaimed Finnish architect, Eero Saarinen?

I used to live in the Flinthills of Kansas. Those limestone hills are making me homesick... Lovely Z as well!

Didn't happen to be Jean Nouvel, did it? That speech sounds pretty familiar...

Mine as well, but since I attended a Midwestern school, we also had Evangelicals literally standing on soapboxes, preaching the gospel to anyone who happened to be within earshot... It was an interesting campus.

On a related note, why the jesusgoddamn don't we get the M5 Touring in America? I don't care that I'll never be able to afford a 100K BMW, but just seeing one on the roads would make at least the following 6 months worthwhile....

For some reason, that depressed me more than I thought a joke-twitter ever could...

This one is pretty specific to the BMW community, but any car with the N52 engine is badly underrated. I guess enough people got the taste of twin turbos in the N54 and decided that a high-revving, smooth, NA straight six just wasn't good enough any more. I drive a basic 328i 6MT and it's an immensely pleasurable

Holy balls, where's my imaginary checkbook? You know, the one tied to my imaginary trust fund...

As an architect, and I prefer the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart.

I think I would make the distinction over those "numbers". Factually, the GTR is hella fast and can corner like (almost) no other. You can look at the tests, the track times, whatever, and see that the GTR is faster than most cars. Numerically, it lives up to the hype, and therefor isn't overrated.. BUT, I don't think

This is a controversial one... and I agree with you, but with modifications. Yes, the GTR is a world beater; no question. Yes, it can run rings around anything in it's price bracket and many cars that cost 2-3X more. And yet it's not a car that I (personally) can ever appreciate, because it manages all of this

I can't stop looking at these weird Chinese ducks

Saab Sonett II?

I'm assuming you're NOVA? I'm Hampton Roads myself.

The new content has been outstanding lately, so great job. Even Kinja is working out alright. Now, though, I'm wondering about your operating budget (and access to workshop space). Is there any chance of seeing a "project car" type of feature in the future?

I feel like Salk would be a snap (har) to make from LEGO, but the complex curves of Calatrava's or Saarinen's buildings might be harder to reproduce. I remember when LEGO announced the Sydney Opera House, and I became so excited! I had used Utzon's building as the basis for my master's thesis project in arch school,

Oddly enough, Gehry started work on Disney a little while before Bilbao. Thing of it was, Disney looked TOTALLY different in it's initial version. Very lovely, in fact. The story I have heard is that Guggenheim asked Gehry to start on the Bilbao museum, and after that breakthrough design was so well received, Disney
