Oddly, I recently sold my WRX because of the poor gas mileage (I commute). Replaced it with a barebones '07 BMW 328i. I would think that the bridge is partly to blame here. Most likely it's a "humped" bridge, thus obscuring the view ahead to the stop sign. It might have been safer to construct a flat bridge.
