Hybrid batteries do wear out. I don’t have firsthand experience with Priuses, but the common guesstimate for various other models is that your hybrid battery will last around ~100k miles. People are starting to recondition batteries which can save you some money (doing this yourself may be possible but is dangerous

I was always fond of Taco Bell with ‘Run for the Border’. When it first started, it was fine and very few cared but, as time went by and attitudes towards immigrants took more and more of a downturn, it seemed more and more racist. It’s one of those great slogans that evolved into something kind of horrible, just

One extra note i would add, Dash (not dashcommand, just dash) is pretty cool and has IFTTT support which can enable you to do some nifty things. I use it to track my driving habits (mpg/etc.) and to keep track of mileage (for work) via connecting it to a google drive spreadsheet. Thanks to IFTTT integration, it

The key here is to freelance elsewhere while you’re doing nothing at work.

In the areas that i’ve lived, between $15 and $20 is standard.

Did you see that ludicrous display last night?

I own both of them, they don’t.

If it was a full fledged Android TV instead of a chromecast, we could at least get Netflix launched via IFTTT, although it would be very kludgey and, there’s... a bit of lag between the command being spoken and the action being performed. Getting a specific movie is probably beyond us for the foreseeable future

You seem to be correct for my state, kentucky. Just checked gasbuddy, at the moment at least, the local Costco beats every gas station, including the non-costco pick on the map, i have never noticed a time when costco wasn’t the cheapest. My state only has 6 costcos.

Some beneficial bacteria like specific items more than others. Having too much of a specific ‘friendly’ bacteria can turn very unfriendly.

Seriously, bacteria are developing alcohol resistance? Man, that’s pretty crazy, it’s almost like a human developing resistance to shotgun blasts. It’s been awhile since biology class but, i was taught that things like alcohol (and to a lesser extent vinegar) worked effectively by completely dissolving key cellular

Hmm, i definitely must be misunderstanding then :/. From the pictures linked, i would just get a small tie wrap (or paper clip) and run it directly through that small hole.

The key is to use things that bacteria is highly unlikely to develop a resistance to. Things like vinegar/alcohol, my mom even added a little bit of bleach but, that might be going overboard.

If you work for a larger company, check with whichever department handles health insurance. A lot of providers are providing hefty discounts on these for employees. I got a charge HR discounted to $50 through mine.

Ah okay, i think i misunderstood earlier, feel free to correct me if i’m still wrong. By middle bar, we’re talking about the part that connects the part you grasp with your finger to the actual zip up/down apparatus? Specifically the part that attaches to the sweater? (Apologies for most likely being needlessly

I think at that point you’re going to have to break out the more heavy duty tools. Soldering iron might work if you’re lucky, or a pair of pliers might work to get the two pieces closer together depending on how it broke.

I mean, yeah, that could work but, the primary benefit of youtube for my wife is instant gratification.

With compound interest, that could net you $20 some day! So, i guess when you’re old you can order pizza once?

Qnap makes several x86 devices that can handle transcoding, synology as well, i’m sure theres a few others that can do it too, to do it flawlessly, you’d probably need one of the high end models though. I personally just don’t transcode, my phone can stream it directly, my android tv device can stream it directly and

The way this one works is kind of confusing coming from the a/b/g/n standard. Wireless AC is *not* actually backwards compatible really. (It technically is, according to the standard but, if you get right down to it they’re either running a separate N router along side the AC router or just swapping back and forth.
