Everything you said about XII applies to XIII too. They made a lot of major changes to the formula in a variety of ways, and these changes threw people off. A lot. You can barely even call FFXIII a RPG. But I don't think that makes it a compromised, dumbed down, or bad game. In fact, it's one of my favorite

Hopefully they'll put more emphasis on stealth and stealth options instead of a few stealth options and a whole lot of guns to kill people/blow stuff up with...

Of course THIS is the game where they're releasing a collector's that comes with the entire soundtrack O_o

Sorry, but I don't consider Naughty Dog to be an example of amazing storytelling in video games. They're an example of Hollywood storytelling in video games (and frankly, there are very few Hollywood movies which tell good stories/tell stories well). There is a major difference between developing characters well and

About time! I was about ready to sell my Move or something, but hopefully this will give me a reason to hold onto it!

There is almost no load time going in/out of battle in FFXIII and the battle system moves so quickly it's almost an action RPG, and XIII-2's system is looking even faster. You should give it a try if the only turn-off is your previous experiences with turn-based battles.

Obviously Platinum Games said they were not developing Metal Gear Solid: Rising because they weren't—they were making Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.

They could probably use some fine-tuning, but for the most part, I love the motion controls! Some of the uses felt contrived/tacked on (such as leaning on the mine-carts), but the sword swinging was phenomenal. I much prefer it to TP's button combinations to do some snazzier moves. I don't see this as bad news, and

A smart marketer could MAKE a demographic for a serious video game awards show out of what we currently have. The problem is they're not even making any attempt to change whatsoever, and are just sticking with the same shit they've done (and been heavily criticized for) in the past.

At least other awards shows make an attempt.

I see the VGAs are still nothing to take seriously...

I've already completed the game, and it's really hard to discuss my feelings on the narrative without touching on what happens later on in the game. I will say that, in terms of the beginning, I found the narrative to be extremely strong for the series. As discussed, the connection with Zelda is what really makes

I really enjoy Animal Crossing, but only in short spurts. And I just stopped playing the game eventually because so much was messed up when I turned the game back on months later. If they gave me an option to put the game clock in a sort of "sleep mode" so that I could pick it up months later right where I left off,

Oh Nintendo, you never cease to amaze me. And I don't meant that in a positive way...

This video represents almost everything I hate about America (well, only some of it really, but some of the stuff I hate most). And yes, I am an American.

This could totally happen at my local Best Buy, which is just a couple stores down from Gamestop. I often go to the other if one doesn't have a game I'm looking for.

I don't think Skyrim needs to "learn" anything from Skyward Sword—they're just two very different games. The appeal in the Legend of Zelda games is its "epicness." It's an incredible experience your first time through (I just beat it last night, and I lost count of how many times the game gave me chills or made me

Glad they're using the fancy engine they spent all this time/money on to develop O_o

That's what I was expecting too—I thought the headline was just being punny.

Anybody who makes an absolute statement like that is ridiculous. My respect for Reggie continues to plummet...
