Versus XIII was darker. XV is J-Pop band #22334 on a quest to save the world from evil managers and extended deadlines.

This one is going to be darker than previous Final Fantasys.

Ahhh, FMA: Brotherhood. Best darn anime ever made, hands down.

The trailer's pretty vague, but I'm getting the impression that the story is going to satirize the previous FFs. Especially that line that goes something like "...when the gods decide to destroy the world, a hero shows up, right on cue..." or a statement of that sort.
