I was just excited to see pics of their wedding. Can you imagine how fabulous her dress could have been?

I’m an RN in the US. Nursing education here is a mess. The move towards all BA educated RNs and nursing programs based at universities is, in my opinion, completely backwards.
This reminds me of something my middle school Latin teacher used to say. “If you cheat, I hope you one day get a surgeon who cheated his way through medical school.”
This is what happens when the bulk of students are coming in wanting a hands on vocational job, but are forced to do an academic degree for nothing more than pride of a few at the top who wanted to have an academic profession like doctors in order to get to that hands on vocation. It is a screwed up system the UK has…
I'm taking this harder than my own break up
Writing essays really helps you to think a problem/proposal through from beginning to end. Rather than seeing a medical case as a series of discrete, unconnected problems and treatments, the doctor/nurse must see it as an interconnected whole, where each bit affects how all the other bits react. Writing an essay is…
Why are nursing students writing essays? Shouldn't they be tested in more concrete ways? I was a science major in college and I hardly ever wrote essays; the ones I wrote were all for electives. Maybe these nursing students are cheating in their non-nursing courses?
I also think the criticism of gossip has deep roots in misogyny. It is seen as an idle women’s activity that men have no time for (even though, tell me, how much more productive is watching hours of Sportscenter?) and so they get to criticize us for being petty and shallow.
You might feel a tiny bit better if you consider that much of this story has to do with their public actions: a song that was publicly released (Kanye), a Grammy speech on national television (Taylor), and an article in GQ (Kim).
Exactly! My daughter was very interested in a mean lady at my office who was a bitch to me, always asking "What did Leslie say today???" I asked her (kid) this morning whose team she was on (she's now 12) and she answered seriously. Mother-daughter bonding. (sad!)
I would also add that Kim has been extraordinarily vocal about political/social causes like gun control, political participation, national and international tragedies (with clear and specific calls to action) and other important issues. As a citizen, she’s doing her part and using her profile to raise awareness and…
Agree with all of this. The art of multitasking is conveniently lost on people when you happen to be doing something that they don’t approve of.
What really gets me is that Trump’s supporters criticize Hilary because her husband was unfaithful while simultaneously supporting a man who everyone knows cheated on his first wife.
His campaign is currently paying the women less than the men, and being sued for gender discrimination by a woman. So.
I’m more disappointed in other Americans than I am disgusted with Trump. That anyone takes him seriously hurts me. Every word out of Trump’s supporters’ mouths make me sadder that this is the country I call home, and these are the people I call my fellow citizens.
I keep telling myself that at some point Trump will say to Clinton “You couldn’t control your husband, how can you control the US?” so she can reply “You couldn’t make your own daughter’s business manufacture its products in the US, how are you going to make Apple/Nabisco/Ford/etc do it?”
That’s an insult to my intelligence. I have the ability to think on my own.
I just keep wondering what kind of human being thinks it’s OK to make fun of Hillary for her husband cheating on her. Can those people please wear signs so I can make sure I never speak to one of them?
Bless you for sitting through that. The third-hand embarrassment is so strong I had to cover my face and read your summary through a gap between my fingers.
