Feeling very old right now because I remember when Details was a clubby kind of magazine. I stole the issue with Julie Brown on the cover from my dentist’s office because I wanted to try to recreate her jean jacket for myself. Spoiler alert: it came out like shit and I got in trouble for wrecking my jacket.

So true, it's why women in el Salvador end up in jail for having miscarriages, there's no way of knowing it was a spontaneous or attempt at inducement. This is all about holding women accountable for the functions of a scary body part men can't control themselves around so they try to control it instead, disregarding

It seems like EVERYTHING on Kitchenette is/was super popular — but I’ll assume TPTB are interested in maximum eyeballs, ad views, and brand management, rather than appeasing some people who like to read about unpleasant restaurant experiences. I have no doubt Pinkham’s audience will follow wherever he chooses to take

This law also encourages women who have used drugs to try and attempt more home births to lower their chances of getting caught. And of course, that means infants that need medical help more than most are less likely to get it.

This is a stealth anti-abortion measure. By making women legally responsible for fetal health, they’re cracking the door open for legislation banning abortion. This has nothing to do with anyone’s health.

Urgh, when will people learn that banning something popular, necessary or addictive doesn’t actually stop it, it just drives it underground.

It’s always a good idea to let law enforcement handle things like addiction treatment and prenatal care. Oh by the way, we’ll need to gut healthcare funding to help pay for the increased law enforcement costs. It’s for the greater good!

Yup, follow him on Twitter @EyePatchGuy for updates on his whereabouts.

NoooOOoo! Behind Closed Ovens is at least half the reason I don’t shove my head in one on Mondays.

The last post of Shade Court mentioned Judge Brown was kinda over it.

Flygirl doesn’t have an official editor Gawker can fire, Jessica Coen left a few weeks ago. They’re also firing Mark Shrayber (a big loss imo, he is hilarious and seems very sweet), CA Pinkham (BCO is one of the most read columns across all Gawker sites) and Tracy Moore, with a very distinct voice in Jezebel.

Agree. Millihelen is the absoulte best. This and Kitchenette make up the majority of the content I actually enjoy, I love the writers, the commenters, and the content.

Kitchenette is axed too! Seriously, I’M CRYING OVER ALL THIS!

Because Flygirl is clearly far superior, and much more relevant, I guess?

Pursuant to Gawker’s new focus, Defamer, Morning After, and Valleywag will be permanently shuttered, clearing the path for Jezebel to become the primary voice for celebrity and pop culture coverage in the network.

Someone posted it in the comments on a Jez article earlier — it’s over at The Awl. Strange and kinda shitty that we haven’t seen any actual announcement HERE. :(

Kitchenette??! Fuck. They're eliminating the joy in this place.

Agree. Sad to learn Jane Marie is leaving! After this and losing Jolie Kerr and Caity Weaver, all my hopes and dreams for the Gawker franchise are pinned on CA Pinkham.

PLUS it’s the only kinka blog that follows me :(

Someone just posted this on the Jez main page. Millihelen and Kitchenette GONE. EGR leaving.
