I’ve never watched the series and was looking forward to the Netflix release. Is there a better version out there I should be aware of?  I would hate for my first viewing of this seminal show to be “the wrong way”.

Powerful is exactly the word I would use to describe it as well. I haven’t seen an emotional interview on a late night talk show in...hell ever! I usually tune in to get some laughs before bed, but was instead nearly brought to tears.

Well I guess that answers the question of “does it hold up”. I absolutely adore Soul Reaver, it blew my damn mind on release. This and Metal Gear Solid were operating on a narrative level that so few games came close to. The music, story telling, and voice acting were outstanding.
