I really don't want them to actually recreate the EU as much as give the good parts of it there due, maybe throw a few references for the hard core fans, and maybe draw inspiration. I mean who want the Corellian trilogy ever mentionaed again? Or the idiotic Callista novels, or Kid Hitler Novel.

I would actually be fine if they basically made the trilogy a "fix" of those awful books.

They are not the weakest part, however to just jettison it completely is a bad idea, instead they should take what they like from it, and take out what doesn't work, you know what they have done with the marvel properties. Hell they should just let the current EU continue as a separate continuity.
