That’s true. But she was a historically unpopular candidate, running against another candidate who was even less popular. The fact that the even more unpopular candidate won is not that shocking.

There’s a reason he got millions of votes less than Hillary in the primary

You don’t know if she was the best candidate because the DNC didn’t bother trying to find a better one. They anointed her as the next President 8 years ago and wouldn’t listen to anyone else.

But some of the writers on these blogs even stated that they were holding their nose and pushing button for Hillary. If that’s a sentiment shared by many of the voters then that count doesn’t really mean much for enthusiasm.

I’ve withheld most of my “I told ya so’s” since election day. But with all the scapegoating of third party votes, liberals, and everyone else around here? It’s refreshing to see someone who is actually willing to blame the campaign management for a campaign that failed.

Now playing

Penelope, I too talked talked to a lot of folks and many actual Republicans who would have voted Sanders. Although Bernie is a bit too old 4 years from now for the Presidency, there are some terrific Democrats like Tulsi Gabbard (who actively promoted Bernie Sanders every step of the way) that would make an excellent

I wanted Bernie to begin with. I had settled and gotten use to the idea of Hilary and she had started to grow on me. I doubt she will run again. That was an awful horrible mess to live through for over a year. But if she doesn’t, I do think Bernie should come back in 3 years and do it again. He has a massive build in

Per the actual rules of the game, she lost. She ignored rural and Midwestern voters that —Barack won and she lost states that she considered her firewall and barely (or not at all) spent time in. The electoral college is our system. She did not get enough votes. She did not win.

We can’t conclude she won the election. Sure, we can say she got more total votes, but that’s not how the Presidential race is won. Trump never ran his race under the assumption that total votes mattered, just total Electoral Votes. If he had run his election so that total vote mattered, we likely would have gotten

Nigel Farage has already had a meeting with him, also Farage made a joke about Trump sexually assaulting Theresa May. Farage will probably be in his team and it just amazing a guy that stood for election 7 times and lost to man dressed as dolphin is now with most powerful man in the world.

She lost because she is a terribly unlikeable loser who was gifted the nomination because it was her time. The red flag should have went up 8 years ago when she lost to a nobody with the middle name Hussein that made it clear she has absolutely no charisma and again this year when she was consistently polled as one of

Prioritizing Hillary Clinton’s feelings over the people who will die as a result of this election is how we got into this mess in the first place.

Oh fuck off. You chose to have a private e-mail server, and then you chose not to address it early on, which gave opponents something to bludgeon your campaign with all year. And then you totally ignored a huge swath of the electorate that was crying out for attention...attention that Bernie would have given them.

I love Hillary, I voted for her without reservations, I cried when she lost.

People want to blame everyone but Clinton and the democratic party for the loss. Typical punching down instead of up. I wish dems would take responsibility for doing a poor job.

No. She lost because she was a shit candidate. Do you like war? Do you like to be told things that will never happen? Want a politician that waits until there is a majority consensus on an issue before she makes a statement about it? She is all that and more. Trump was terrible, worse even, but I see why people were

Drone warfare and (ha) “precision strikes” are utterly indefensible crimes against humanity, but there’s no need to equivocate. That’s the sort of smug ideological purity that kept a large portion of the American populace on their damned couches last Tuesday. There’s a marked difference between starting a war and

To be fair, inflicting suffering on brown people is a totally bipartisan disgrace.

I’m glad he takes comfort in painting the wounded soldiers who died during his meaningless wars. If he could think about all the brown people who suffered and still suffer, it could be great. Like, a Rothko chapel full of brown faces.
