I’m sorry to say that some people are saying they shouldn’t go to America because of the risk of getting shot. Not specifically by police, but there is growing international awareness and fear of America’s gun violence.

But I also agree with you that Indians shouldn't be painted with a broad brush as all bad it's just complicated

I love those signs and hope to see a similar message here. Rape is not an India only issue and I'm pleasantly surprised to see so many men joining in these protests.

Britain did list an advisory against queer people travelling there, tho.

With a glare like that, you just know she’s gonna grow up to be someone you don’t wanna fuck with.

I’m sad to say that the only surprising thing about this story is that the man was jailed in the first place. In India, if a woman is of the Dalit class, it’s as if she exists simply to be raped. Although India has nominally outlawed the discrimination against the Dalits, every level of government and society

The little one in the third picture is one intense baby.

this is NOT an endorsement of the gross and racisty painting all of india with a rape brush. this is just me pointing out we do, in fact, have travel advisories about cops :/

I’m not sure it is a tiny fraction. Government surveys in India, for example, have found that over half of all children have been subject to sexual abuse. Obviously sexual abuse and assault is a problem in most countries and is vastly underreported, but India’s numbers are higher than many places http://m.timesofindia.

You realize that the 4 rapes a day is not the total number of rapes a day in India, right?

About 16%. And that’s 4 reported rapes per day. Most women don’t go to the police because of the stigma of being a victim of rape and because victims of the lowest caste rarely get any justice.

Actually yes they do. Several countries, including the Bahamas, have issued warnings due to the perceived likeliness of police violence, especially against young black men.

And by and large the ones who aren’t doing the raping generally aren’t any happier about it than we are.

The Caste system in India blows my mind. I worked with an amazing Indian fellow for quite some time who was shocked that I cared about all the deaths from the heat wave in India during the 2015 Summer. He said that they were all poor and “Untouchable” so it didn't matter that they were dying in the hundreds.

Can someone please get Gal Gadot to do some freakin’ pushups! I’ve seen girls in high school with more muscles then her.

Until you are a tall, muscular woman, who played through university and has seen a variety of athletic body types (including very thin women with all their rib cage shown) you will not understand. I was routinely told I looked like a man. I do not look like a man. My face is extremely feminine, my hair is long, my

THANK YOU. apparently saying “why can’t she be buff and muscular rather than thin like a model?” is shitting on women who are thin, according to some people around here.

Am I a bad feminist for thinking they laid it on just a tad thick here, though? Like the slavery thing- “I like her!” didn’t quite hit the mark for me. I love the general badassery to be certain but it feels like some of the lines seem sort of seem like they’re pandering too hard.. I feel like it’s going to distract

this is so naive, i’m sorry. the fact that her body is not overly muscular has nothing to do with them choosing a non-athlete. an athlete, i agree, would have been a terrible idea. they could easily have made her buff up for the role. cavill did. affleck did. i bet you every single male actor in the DC universe did

Grace huh? Do people care how graceful batman or iron man is when they're fighting bad guys?
