Not overstepping at all. I don’t think I can watch that video just yet, but I bookmarked it.

I’m sorry for your loss too. That’s a sweet way to memorialize your pup.
I tried to distract myself by being busy, so I steam cleaned my carpet. It worked for a couple of hours. I can’t seem to concentrate on TV though. Ugh, I wish I could just fall sleep and wake up and feel less terrible tomorrow.
Thank you! It was hard too because I didn’t have anyone with me. But I had it done in my home by a mobile vet, and she spent her last moments snuggled with me on the couch. That’s as good a send-off as she could ask for, I suppose.
That’s brilliant, actually. I’m going to try it, thank you.
This has nothing to do with anything, but I had to put my kitty down today (17 years old, had her since I was 16) and am fucking miserable. I keep thinking I see her out of the corner of my eye. Why can’t pets live as long as we do.
But it comes with a fancy new display case.
Thanks! Yet I still feel sorry for her. I can’t imagine having to travel like that right after giving birth while completely sleep deprived.
I think it’s insane that they’re telling you to bring your own food and water to the shelters in Jacksonville. How are you supposed to lug that around? And why aren’t they prepared to feed people?
This. Houses in Florida that are to code are not going to blow over. But if you’re close enough to the coast, storm surge will get you. Happened to us in Ivan.
When there is a mandatory evacuation, emergency services won’t respond. That’s the deal you make when you decide to stay.
Where I live in Savannah (not directly on the coast, but 20 miles inland), they issued the mandatory evacuation order today. Yesterday, they were saying not to leave so we didn’t clog the roads for people who really needed to go. It’s insane.
The shelters where I am (Savannah) let you bring your pets. Which is awesome. When I went through several hurricanes in Florida in 2004-05, the shelters wouldn’t let you.
They jumped the gun.
It does seem super short. I always feel like it ends so abruptly. It’s great though, and I’ll take what I can get!
Wait, there was a fourth one? I guess they call kind of blurred together in my memory.
Ok, I agree. They changed what had become an archaic law. Even if the change is mostly symbolic I think it’s great.
You can go to jail for misdemanors, but the sentence has to be less than a year. California had mandatory jail time for repeat offenders.
The deposition thing makes sense because it’s a sound legal strategy...opposing counsel would have the right to inspect any documents that he used. As for the lease, I assume that he has high-powered lawyers that read over it for him. That doesn’t really excuse not knowing what’s in it, but I can sort of see it.
The mandatory minimum does not apply to statutory rape cases. And the adult in your hypothetical would only get a civil penalty anyway.
