That is a very new definition. It’s a good one, though. I like it. But it took a long time for people to figure it out.

I’ve been reading a lot of older sexology, from back in the days when masturbation was considered a bad thing to do. But yes, get to know your own body before you go after anyone else’s. That would have saved me a lot of grief.
I’ve seen that video before. (Maybe you posted it?) It’s cute. But it’s quite recent, not something that dates from Roman times. It wasn’t that long ago that rape was only violent stranger rape, or only rape if the man who had jurisdiction over a woman said so. I remember when marital rape was made illegal. Do you…
Assertiveness training. Self defence training like Model Mugging/Impact. Also anything that makes you physically stronger and fitter makes you more confident. Plus it’s fun.
I think consent actually is a difficult concept. If it were easy, we would have figured it out millennia ago. (I’ve been reading up on it and a lot has changed just in the last generation, unlike contract law which goes way back.)
I’ve heard of specific episodes happening in the ‘50s (she got labelled a nymphomaniac) and in the ‘20s or ‘30s (she needed an illegal abortion). No one I knew - no one I knew would tell about something like this. I got these examples from nf books. Also, if you ever want to really cringe, read Alice Munro’s Lives of…
I think the writing at least wasn’t too bad. Though it was so long ago, I might change my mind if I saw it again. (And I just got your name - it took a few tries.)
This was a frontier town in the mid 1800s US. White people: yes. Natives: yes. Disabled people: yes (though it’s odd to see them represented). Black people: sure, they were on the frontier, too, but would they have been here? I don’t know. And I don’t remember the townfolk being equally mixed - I remember them being…
I actually thought Young Riders was laying on the diversity a little thick. It may have been completely realistic, and I liked the show, but it still seemed like they were checking off boxes. Female: check. Native: check. Disabled: check. Black: check.
Tim Horton’s is ok. (Don’t know anything about the guy who founded it, though.)
Have you ever tried to work in high tech? Waiting for the status quo to change won’t work. If there are women who can increase their odds of getting a foot in the door by doing this, then they probably should. The more women who go into a field, the more normal it seems that they can do the work, and the easier it is…
Which part is the white trash part?
Well, I don’t know. You could dissect it, mount the skeleton, and have the outside part stuffed. (My grandfather killed a squirrel that ran up his leg, and he had it taxidermied.)
Yeah, I goofed by responding. Lesson learned.
Yeah, I know. I shouldn’t have bit.
The most essential nutrient is the calorie. Not getting enough calories can trigger eating disorders in people who are susceptible, with long term health costs. Being hungry can make it hard to sleep well. Etc.
Many of them are too poor to eat right, never mind pay a tax, too. Though if you want to tax junk food, go ahead. Just make sure people can still afford to eat.
My experience with serious feelings of guilt is that it stayed with me for years and kept me on my toes (which I think is what it is for) then eventually faded. You feel guilty because you care.
On the subject of mobility issues, my aunt participated in a zombie walk with her walker.
I’m not a Hallowe’en person, but I do have issues around Christmas with no friends or family to share it with, especially since it’s my birthday. I try to make it a more spiritual day for me instead. You could do that for Hallowe’en, I suppose, or even look for people who celebrate it spiritually, if that might help.
