So before the inevitable flood of comment about how Chipotle is the McDonalds of Mexican food and the food has no flavor and everyone who professes to like it is a hopeless culinary plebeian, let me just say:

I don't see how having a home birth is stupid.

I know plenty of women who have had homebirths who vaccinate their children on schedule.

I think this is a specious connection. Wanting a home birth or a birth at a birthing center is not a rejection of modern medicine, unless you think the fact that the United States has far and away more unnecessary cesarean sections than any other industrialized nation is some kind of triumph of science.

I am sorry that you felt that this incredibly diverse group of winners at this awards show was so boring and elitists. I guess that acknowledging that Asian, Latino’s and African Americans were represented AND winners who were called up on the stage is too much of a bother for you and not entertaining for you at all…

Too long have Google-Americans suffered in our society.

Wow, something that I as a nerd finally have in common with religious nutjobs: hating deviations from the established canon of my favorite fictional universes.

Now playing

I wish I could post his Conan bit (the one where he's at that family dinner). It's hilarious.

On the one hand, I'm really glad that women who can't or don't want to breast feed can rest easy knowing that they haven't consigned their child to being a pump jockey. It's unfair the way women have been given shit for perfectly legitimate choices about feeding their kids.

I always thought the primary benefit was immune-system related in that the child did not have as fully of a developed immune system and that breastfeeding helped in this regard.

Oh Jezebel...

I said it multiple times, and I'll say it again: Jeff Goldblum and Sam Neil both had a solo Jurassic sequel. It's time for Laura Dern to get hers!

If no kids are involved, by all means, part ways and don't look back. But if I were to break up my marriage right now because I want to spice things up with a new partner, I'd have to sell the home I'm raising my son in. Suddenly the $80K/year household he lives in becomes two $40K/year households—which is darn near

This is true.

Listen, if I can't marry off my children for a duchy, what good are they?

"Marriage is about family. It's not about love. Two sisters can love each other. That's an odd idea by the way in Western history. The idea that two people should get married on the basis of love. Now, HOPEFULLY, people do love each other. Marriage has always been based historically on duty and on commitment."

Also, while you're at it people, please refrain from comparing it to FGM.

Do you have a list of things that are okay to get away with because of religion and cultural history that I can refer to when needed?

Where's the line for what's acceptable for a parent to do to a child in the name of religion?
