Not really no. It's exactly the Hobbit with a few subplots from the ROTK appendix.

She did not say all or even most critics are calling it terrible. Compared to the wide critical acclaim the LotR movies, it is more than fair to say this film is being called terrible by critics. Technically speaking, her statement would be correct if even 2 critics had called it terrible but alas, it's a lot more…
Because of the 48FPS, the 3D was incredible. And the HFR makes the whole movie beautiful too. I thought it would be a big difference but you honestly get used to it early on and the fidelity was greater than any film I've ever seen. 48FPS is the future.
Because you can see clear (and good) designs for monsters and robots instead of giant moving scraps of metal. And Del Toro's filmography compared to Bay's should tell you it will be a lot better.
Giant robots, pfft fine but giant robots punching? That's just impossible, right?!!?
He's a former Starfleet officer/captain who was spurned for some opportunity and was on an alien planet plotting his revenge. The Enterprise picks him up from whatever planet (perhaps because he was messing with that volcano) and either bring him to Earth to stand trial (all part of John Harrison's plan) or he takes…
Keywords in jbittrich's posts before you go on: "responsible" and "occasional". Still have qualms?
A) It's original because it hasn't been done before.
Except Halo was originally meant to be a RTS so they didn't steal anything.
Let me get this straight: you're mad because a bunch of fans were recognized for their idea and hard work, and instead of doing it for free, they got hired and paid to finish the game. AND Capcom is releasing it for free.
Just collect blood samples from Batman's first fistfight with an experienced fighter so you can go arrest Burce Wayne and put him into a psych ward.
I was referring specifically to " Indeed, while Arrow is the best this season has to offer (I won't be seeking any kudos for predicting the vast, Vast number of show corpses littering the TV landscape), it really shouldn't be." But if you mean only superhero shows, then I'd agree.
Breaking Bad? Sherlock? Community? All still airing.
I was with you until you attacked the concept. Calling a whole genre of comic books crap only shows your ignorance. Troll harder.
Well, if fans of Green Arrow were expecting an adaptation of the character, I think it's fair for the showrunners to have made the distinction (which is not to say there haven't been some 'gritty' GA stories). Anyway, it's still handling the source property ten times better than Smallville did Superman.
You do live up to that name. But seriously, it's a show about a superhero and not even as grounded in realism as Nolan's Batman, which is also pretty ridiculous if you think about it. You're not going to get any live-action superhero adaptations without the ridiculousness.
Yeah, Disney took America by storm by making his animators take life drawing classes and infusing conservative middle-class values into his works. Animators like the Fleischers who had frequently done risque metaphorical cartoons with a very surreal art style had to adapt to Disney's style or go out of business.
These were high-budget productions that were the Fleischer brothers' last hurrah after Disney and WB's success pushed them out of the market. You can see that they're emulating Disney's more realistic art style as opposed to their early cartoons. It's a shame these weren't a success.
