I think you’re right about Nintendo just wanting to lock the patent down. If a Game Boy Classic did come out, I have to say I’d probably skip it. GBA Classic would be another story entirely.
The Micro doesn’t have 20-30 games loaded onto it like this presumably will, so that’s not any more worrisome than, say, the Game Boy Color existing. HeartGold is probably the best Pokemon game, so why would one want to play the demade version? The Zelda games would still be fantastic, but I can’t think of a non Zelda…

While the response and demand has been overwhelmingly positive for nes and snes remakes I think a gray (green?)scale only device would be too hard a sale. Maybe a GBA? Don’t worry about it, whatever way you choose to play is OK.
BUT! one thing, you CAN actually feed enemies but you have to figure out a way for them to either not notice or not see you as an enemy (which you can but Ill not spoil how).
