Scott Foley. From The Unit, Felicity, And some one-season lawyer show like AUSAs or something. And he used to be married to Jennifer Garner. I adore him.

Well, we cleared it up, but it wasn't her/his sister. It was about the OP's sister, so s/he had no way of knowing if the sister was, in fact a ne'er do well until the OP wrote that the sister was living off their parents. That was a response post, which wasn't there when S/he asked the question.

Fair enough. I certainly don't advocate bad parenting, not vaccinating your kids, sponging off your family for no good reason, or inadequately educating your children (I actually don't advocate homeschooling at all, but that's another post.). It read differently to me. Thanks for responding rationally. :)

Excuse me, but did you really just write that a stay-at-home mother, one who home-schools her kids no less, is a ne'er do well living off her husband? Regardless of the beliefs or personality of this particular woman, do you not think that's an offensive position to take toward women (and/or men) who are raising

Best comment on the thread. And maybe the best I've ever seen about Jenny McCarthy. Superb.

Your dress is amazing, super sassy! I think the other Jezzies have you covered for fashion, but I wanted to chime in (two days later) about meeting the family. I'm coming from the other side, as Mr. Thinker is usually one of the only brown people at my family's events. We've been married four years now, but I remember

This is my favorite comment ever. The imagery is sublime.

Yes. It was required reading in one of my J-school classes and one of the best-written and most interesting books I've ever read.

You're right. Sorry 'bout that. Let me build a bridge from your thought to mine:

I've stopped snarking JCP ever since the Ellen/Million Mom thing. In case you're not familiar: MM boycotted because Ellen was JCP spokeswoman & JCP ran a Mothers' Day ad with a two-mom family. JCP responded by running a two-dad-family Fathers' Day ad. Did their numbers say that was smart? Probably. Do I care? No. It's

Exactly this! I said this on Facebook. Only I think Cruz is the equivalent of the weasely WW Speaker.

+1 for Cider. Spot on.

I thought that, too! But she's too old, right? Although I guess actors usually play much younger characters. I'd cast her; I literally thought that was a picture of her.

I knew and now know of multiple people who were regularly either blacked out or passed out from drinking when we were in college (10-14 years ago). It wasn't my main group of friends, and that's never really been my scene. I agree wholeheartedly that this is not the best idea, but I wasn't making decisions for these

Yeah, it's just what you like. I guess I'm a sentimental jewelry person. I wear my wedding/engagement bands; a large plain white gold band that was my grandmother's (as a thumb ring); and a toe ring on each foot, one of which has a tiny diamond that was my grandmother's (my mom &sister each have one, too) and the

Yep. I get Botox for migraines, and my one-smaller-eye issue is SO MUCH WORSE. I've been getting injections about every three months for three years. My eyelid droop is pretty bad now; it wouldn't surprise me if I had to have it surgically fixed someday to keep it from impairing my vision.

Holy doppelgänger:

I think most people do, but it's certainly each person's call. My mom wore hers until the ring broke 28 years in; then she had the diamond placed with her mother's and grandmother's in an already-sentimental family ring. now she wears that on her ring finger. The only other person I know who doesn't wear her original

I agree, that is twisted. But here's the thing. I'm glad Mr Thinker is so much like my dad, personality-wise. My dad's great. My husband isn't a father figure to me, but I'm a lot like my mom, and my husband's a lot like my dad; my parents have been happily in live since they were (literally) kids , so why wouldn't I

I wholeheartedly concur. Mr. Thinker grew up outside the US (I'm American), and I was so pleasantly surprised when I discovered his willingness to unselfconsciously enjoy good rom-coms. We'll watch In Her Shoes one day and X-Men the next because we just like what we like. I find most men are socialized to at least
