so my take-away from this piece is, if your partner won't commit, loosen the screws on all the furniture in the apartment.

Even if her son is everything any straight woman would want in a husband, who in their right mind would want to have her as their mother-in-law?

Isn't it another episode about death? Remember, the song which ends the episode's final line: When the end comes, I'll know/I was just a gigolo/Life goes on without me.

I would argue that 99.9% of men can't be a jet pilot or formula 1 driver either (we'll just use that number since I am guessing neither of us will try to look up something like that). Is there a larger percentage of male participants in racing? Yes. But is that because women can't do it as well? No.

Yeah, no one saw that movie... also, no one got depressed about what a waste of time it was, since they have so little time to watch movies, and then ate an entire pie.

No one.

Doug, you're still drunk! Go home (again)!

So much more awesome than the shallow-eyed tripe this article is. Thanks for the link!

Ok, I'm putting on my judgement pants for a minute.

I think Kyosuke posted this on Groupthink last night with a 10x more insightful take on what was going on. For those of you struggling to interpret this, maybe take a look at that thread? http://groupthink.kinja.com/psys-new-gentl…

Yes! this is also my secret wish.

There's a band that I've been listening to for about 5 or 6 years now. I've seen them a bunch of times, met them, even interviewed the lead singer. I saw them again this past week and ran into one of the guitarists at the merch table and am suddenly crushing on him like crazy. I don't know how I never noticed him

I think that I'm leaning slightly toward Team Goop, which pains me. No, it wasn't nice to call out Joan Rivers by name, but Joan Rivers is a huge part of the system that shames women into trying to pretend to be young forever and has said many crueler things about other actresses.

Maybe it's because I'm part of the most singled out demographic for "just not attractive" comments (black female), but I can't help but wonder how different things would be if media portrayals of women of color were different. Black women are unanimously shown as screaming "boujetto" Housewives and baby mamas on

I think most people when asked would say they're okay dating outside their race. I think most people when asked would also say they're not racist. It's socially expected and it's what people want to hear. They may even believe it themselves. However, it doesn't mean it's true.
