Agreed. I’ll be upgrading my Vive to an Index 2 or whatever Valve calls it whenever that comes out. Index controllers on the Vive have extended its life a few years so I’m not in a hurry.

Of course, you need a FB account to use it, which still sucks - but other than binding your FB w/ the Oculus account, you don’t really notice.

As long as you have to bind your Facebook account to an Oculus device, the answer for me is: neither.

I think people outside of the game-o-sphere are more used to this kind of naming convention than they’re getting credit for. High-end machine has “X” designation, lower end machine has “S” designation, with Microsoft having ditched the middle of the road option this go-round, at least for the time being.

That’s not true though, is it. Epic want to be big, yes, and profitable of course. And whilst I’d usually argue that in the current year *any* (aggressive or otherwise) corporatism/capitalism should be considered “bad”, Epic clearly want to be as good as they think they can. I agree 8K for VR would probably be nice, as even current headsets like the Quest and Rift S still feel like looking at a 720p screen from mere inches (I know, I have one). And video for VR needs a lot more pixels as the video data cover a lot more than what’s in your field of view. This is probably the only place

While I can definitely tell a difference, I understand your point completely. The same thing happens in almost any field, actually. Like, there’s always something that is technically “better”, but it comes a point where this doesn’t really matter anymore for most. Don’t get me wrong, some people CAN spot a difference,

If you’re breathing someone’s exhale, you’re cabin filter needs to be changed.

“But recirculated air will definitely be more humid”

From LifeHacker’s own Jason Fitzpatrick:

I read some time ago somewhere (might have been here in LH) that when you get into a hot car in the Summer, you should open the windows and hit the A/C at full power with the recirculation button OFF, so it “pushes” the hot air out. As soon as you feel that the air blast from the vents starts to cool off, you close

Using “universe” interchangeably with “galaxy” is not reflective of the editorial standards I expect from Kotaku or GMG. Thank you.

Interesting! What’s the difference between what goes on with LEDs that are steady and the ones that flash at 60 Hz? Differences in how the DC is made for them?

Hey thanks! My misinformation came from understanding from my study of physics, and it looks like I was wrong. Scientists like to find out when they are wrong! :)

Ah, I was going to give my customary “See you out in the black, CMDR! o7 but as you’re a console player that literally isn’t possible.

Elite: Dangerous. With the Chapter 4 update of ‘Beyond’ released, this year’s version of Elite has reached its final form. Introducing ridiculous amounts of new content for every aspect of gameplay.

Will the decent gaming rig give me immediate access to a large games library that will not cost me anything extra?  Will it give me access to 1st Party Microsoft titles at no additional cost?  No?  Then maybe this deal is for someone who wants to immediately game, has no knowledge or desire to build a sub grand gaming
