John Kelly’s Advisor: “But are there no prisons? Are there no workhouses?

Trump has ripped any mask of gentility from the naked face of greed and power that the status quo had. Kelly is just following his shriveled, dead heart.

While I still watch the occasional vintage Star Trek episode, most of my Netflix watchlist is original shows. I still have to finish Narcos, House of Cards, Iron Fist, Daredevil, and Punisher, and start Sabrina, Russian Doll, Ozark, and Umbrella Academy. Plus upcoming seasons of Black Mirror, Stranger Things, The

NOBODY is paying for nine streaming services. One of the most telling things about TV, and frankly something executives have ignored, was a few years ago Nielsen looked at its data and discovered that cable users watched an absolute MAXIMUM of seventeen channels, and within that subset, there were like two to four

Reading that made my head hurt. Did anyone bother to tell dumbfuck Max that the reason Red States have those resources is due to... wait for it.. TAX DOLLARS FROM BLUE STATES!!!! Max it’s called civics.

It’s a ludicrous reach — just look at the trolls around here, who conflate the issue of a “sanctuary city” with immigration.

You mean cities that already have taken in these people? Cities where most of the commerce is made? What if these cities called his bluff and withheld their taxes to these shit red states that live off of them? Then what?

Technically, it is a sort of inoculation. It’s the one I had, and the one that almost everybody in my generation had, because there was no vaccine then. It differs in two significant ways, though:

Shingles is the same virus as chickenpox it’s impossible to get it unless you’ve previously had chickenpox. The virus basically ‘goes to sleep’ inside your body and when it wakes up boom theres shingles an ugly painful rash that if you’re unlucky will continue to hurt even after the rash is gone.

I don’t think so. Getting chicken pox is what puts you at risk of shingles later in life. It’s something like the chicken pox virus, even after your symptoms go away, is still in your body, but just dormant, and shingles is when it reactivates.

Cool. For no reason whatsoever you made your kids feel like shit for several days, exposed them to the possibility of complications, and now they are at risk of getting shingles. I’m struggling to figure out how this isn’t child abuse? Even for the Trump era this is mind boggling.

A minor quibble: 8 billion dollars will only buy a section or two of a wall. This ain’t no third-world shithole mud wall! This is the finest 5th century wall technology money can buy, player.

America cannot afford to invest in our children or overhaul the health care system in order to protect all citizens? I disagree. The funding is out there.

Donnie loves his style of reverse socialism.

But even without Netflix, people still have access to thousands of movies? Ever heard of Roku? Pretty much anyone can watch anything made in the last eighty years, for a buck or two extra. Technology killed Hollywood, not Netflix.

The first is that they spent way more money on Oscars marketing this year than anybody else—reported numbers range as high as $50 million, although even the more conservative $25 million would be five times what Universal spent for Green Book.

I actually can believe that Spielberg doesn’t have such a notebook, if only because Spielberg has the money and the power to get anything made. The man has an entire production company at his disposal, for heaven’s sake.

To add my typing to this, if the only concern is distribution then I guess no movie with a limited theatrical release should be an Oscar-contender as lord know shlups like me in the Midwest aint ever seeing them outside of renting or streaming.

Poor Steven doesn’t realise that it’s a bit harder to blackball a company than an ex-wife

So, essentially, what we have here is some wealthy people arguing over exactly who should qualify for an award...for a film.
