My work at my next outlet will be more industry- and business-focused and less about playing games and writing about them, so I don’t think the FF retrospective can continue there. But I do have dreams of writing a book about Final Fantasy one day. We’ll see!

I worked on a game where the raffle prizes were never handed out at the end of the project because 90% of the team was laid off and we finished the game with a skeleton crew. 

I cannot imagine something I would less like to be involved with, consume, or even be aware of. Just reading this article made my day worse.

Considering how marketing budgets are usually the same as the entirety of the game’s production, so we’re talking from tens to hundreds of millions, if paying someone a million dollars to stream it works then you can see why management would see the marketing department as a giant waste of money.
