Yah some games are better then others for it (or, they don't need to split-the-screen at all). Some PC gamers are gloriously alone, sitting in the lap of Gaben, bathing in the light of a pixel multitude. On the other hand, the 35 second interim of AutoSave in XBox Minecraft has become AUTOCOMBAT!, because my 2 boys

PC gaming misses that whole split-screen on-the-couch with friends or one's kids experience. While I acknowledge and take advantage of the obvious edge PCs have, I'll always have consoles around from each gen

what if you just played a game where destruction of.. equipment was simulated during a big firefight.. in SLO-MO

I suspect its the gun that triggered his ire

Half of branding efforts involve bombarding the human brain with imagery over and over to increase familiarity and associate the brand with safe environs. This permits positive associations to form, especially in the young. It really doesn't need to make much more sense than that

4 player split-screen from the couch, with kids or friends, will not happen on the pc.

So how much time elapsed after your new account creation, before you dropped to insulting this guy?

my point about someone making the determination is not to say it was a philosophical determination. Its just to remind us that someone else came along and made a different determination. This can even happen within Starfleet (especially over years-long timeframes). It just took sufficient legal power, on their

like Night-Gaunt said, someone got it to court..

absolutely.. Maybe its configurable.. I didn't hear him describe the uses of the 2 sticks (i'm assuming one of them was sufficient to control the fighter.. the other could do the targeting)

those are my 2 favorite games from that era.. I DID want to go back and sink more quarters into them, and I got better at them then just about any other game.

  • I didn't say you were criticizing it for having fallible characters. It was my contention that they are fallible characters (being human). LOL, how did you then decide that's how I was characterizing your argument, and feel the need to defend against it?

nah i don't think you are.. i've been debating some others recently who are though, so my apologies if some of that seeped in

My sympathies.. I guess, at this point, I have low expectations, so as to avoid being let down so much. And my kids have recalibrated much of how i assess things

On the other hand, the world is full of Dumb.. you can either die angry about it, or laugh at it..

i assumed no such thing.. rather than being good, i only imagined a vessel full of wondery goo

Sure i did. I'm just not all that interested in seeking out flaws in movies anymore.. especially genre flicks. My kids aren't either. Its just more fun that way.

If everyone tries REALLY REALLY HARD, we might even dissuade him from ever making another genre flick again!

so half is wonder-filled, half is mediocre, and that averages out to bad/awful?

but what if the next one is awesome..
