I’m hope I’m not giving away any deceptive tactics here, but can’t you shampoo the engine/car interior and get rid of any debris or salt while cleaning it? I mean, it doesn’t seem that hard to do, and that would make it even harder to spot the flood damage sustained by the vehicle.

In all honesty, the PT Cruiser is not that ugly if bought in plain silver. Sure, its cosmetics are not the greatest, but it's miles ahead of some other godawful vehicles. Woah! I've never seen a microwave with a tea option. Is the preparation of tea via microwave some cult I've missed out on?
