This reminds me of the Mouse Trap board game, another piece of over-engineered mess that required a massive amount of setup for a small payoff (when it worked, which was a disturbingly small percentage of the time).
It’s not just a factor of looking cool, but also having actually good safety ratings for passengers in the second and third rows.
It’s 2024. The rest of the world has moved beyond “h8rs gonna h8,” you probably should too.
Haha I love reading these comments. Everyone posting the negative comments are absolutely unhinged.
This car is a diamond in the rough. Take into account the location where it lived, the purpose behind it. 382k of those miles happened in the first 11 years of its life from 1993-2003 so the owner could run their very…
This is like the “ten second car” Brian O’Connor rolled into Dom Toretto’s shop to replace the one he wrecked.
I always thought the handles on the Subaru XT6 were pretty sweet.
brother,,,, we do a QOTD every single day.
Maybe it is just my personal experience and sentimental attachment, but I’m going to say Porsche 911 (G series, 1974-1989). Just something so mechanical and satisfying about the feel and sound.
New here? They do these “poll the readers” questions pretty often. This site is a business and to stay IN business they need to drive clicks. While the writers work on “real” articles, it’s easy for them to foster a bit of genuine engagement with articles like this. The time it took to set this up has no real impact…
Let’s go back in time, when cars were beautiful, and so were their door handles. Case in point, the absolute Italian diva: Lamborghini Miura and it’s ‘fin’ door handles
I am generally not a fan of Lincoln cars but I think the handles on the latest Continental are super sleek
I’ll kick it off with maybe an unpopular opinion... I like those second-row door handles that disappear into the trim work. I find them surprisingly ergonomic and, when done well, keep the style lines really tight. Honda’s HRV and the Acura ZDX are the examples that immediately jump to mind but there are a bunch.
I love the handles on the 10th (and final) generation of the Lincoln Continental. The way the sit flush against the chrome trim around the windows gives them a well-integrated and elegant look. I actually thought the entire car itself was pretty nice looking, but the door handles in particular stood out to me as a…
Pretty biased here, but I love the door handles on my 718 Cayman S. It doesn’t really look like much, but the handle hinges upward when you pull it instead of straight out. So one would have to reach and pull with palms facing up. Ergonomics come in to play, as the car is quite low. In addition, the cavity between the…
I have a S60 T6 with the superchaged turbocharged 4 banger. NO mechanical issues. 60k miles. Cracked refrigerant line is the only issue I have had and I think that came from hitting a possum.
At least the S60 also has tons of dealers, and the drivetrain is used across the entire Volvo lineup so they’ll be making parts for ages. (That being said, I really wonder about the reliability ‘Recharge’ drivetrain with it’s crazy-complex hybrid+turbo+supercharged setup.)
I REALLY want an I-PACE. I’ve heard this is the most unwise decision a rational human being can make, so I won’t.
As an automotive insider, the EVs and especially Hybrids, will all be disposable junk soon. Reliability in the future is going to consist of a vehicle that either won’t need to be entirely replaced or one that needs its full battery pack / powertrain replaced. Current used market trends are proof enough, of how the…
Being a dyed in the wool Alfisti this pains me to say that the Tonale and its Dodge twin the Hornet have the potential to be nightmare’s with their electric hybrid set up. The ICE motor doesn’t scare me so much as the interface with the electric and drivetrain. I’m using the Hornet pic as a protest to actually…
