Hopping on the band wagon. My god this this is so ugly even black can’t hide it. Some consumer looked at this and said “I don’t want an S-class, I’ll take this”! It looks like if predator and Velma from scooby doo had a kid, and that kid can never find his glasses.

Beaver-Bimmer all day long. It’s even worse in person. Even the stock photo model guy is kind of embarrassed.

This is the only answer, we’re done here:

BMW XM

Seeing as the general “SUV Coupe” design is one of the ugliest car shapes to have ever existed, that’s a pretty low bar to clear.

I’m starting to think that the new Z isn’t a real car. It has been over a year since the first tests came out and I still haven’t seen one on the road or even at a weekend cars & coffee. This is in SoCal, what should be the epicenter of this car’s market too.

David Brooks whines about everything.

Luck had zero to do with it. Work ethic and pride, and a desire to be the best in the world at what they did is what did it. Even without the global energy crisis, the increasing quality of Japanese engines and automotive technology would not have gone unnoticed. But yes, I agree with the sentiment of what you’re

i wouldn’t call superior engineering and an amazing product luck

Jim Hall and his Chaparrals.

The low price on this 2016 family hauler, in this market, seems either too good to be true, or these are as crappy as I think they are.

I’m assuming the Jeep Jeepster just stuck with me because I was 12, and a Jeep sports car seems like a very 12-year old concept, but I still love this.

Cadillac is the king of concepts. Others have posted the Ciel and the Elmiraj so I’ll throw in the Sixteen:

* tombola

Most of the greats have already been covered, so I’ll throw in one of my favorites - the Chevy Code 130R. Small RWD coupe? Yes please.

Pretty much ANY Italdesign concept, especially the ones used in Need For Speed videogames:

Haha, whoops! That’s embarrassing. Yes, the car I posted is the Shelby GR-1, and I had a mental mix-up and called it the Messenger (a design I also love.) Here’s a pic I got of the Messenger a couple years earlier at NAIAS 2003:

If you think a Countach is short, go see prototype race cars. They are incredibly short AND compact! It’s something you can’t appreciate until you see in person.

Of course it has to be the Italdesign Columbus

I mean it’s kinda worth a read, so maybe go back and try again? It’s less like an anti-crunch article and more of a reflection on the game compared to the reality in which it was made and the world we live in today.
