I’ll do it for you.
I’ll do it for you.
I thought I was crazy, but I’m with you - I’ve really come around to the E63 6-Series. Perhaps it’s because we’ve become inundated with overwrought styling in more recent cars that it’s softened my impression of the polarizing Bangle-era 6er.
With racing drivers, that line is a dotted one.
It was a rebadged VT Commodore - I’m mostly being facetious; I actually kind of like the Catera, as it was the first big shift for Cadillac pursuing a more “European” approach to building luxury cars. However it was maligned for its lack of reliability, and general lack of support from Cadillac dealerships.
Any variation of “this price is only good today.”
Looking at a pre-owned Catera
What a simply stunning design. Reminds me of the blocky, edgy vibes of 80s Italian concept cars.
It’s not so much that the features that annoy me it’s that they are being marketed with commercials full of inattentive people being bailed out by the nannies.
My 2004 SAAB 9³ was like that - headlights and tail lights were always on no matter what - the headlamp switch didn’t do anything except light the gauges up.
That’s always my first thought with all of these new overwrought designs.
This is very strange, but I guess it’s an early shot at something that Kia and indeed other manufacturers will find a way to integrate well.
Audi popularized LED accent lighting, even though early examples looked like tacky decorative lights, Lexus has finally found a decent way to integrate their spindle grille in…
Benefit of the doubt, they may be for venting heat from the brakes?
But also, I might as well throw this in here
I hear you. I think inexpensive, practical vehicles are important and Mitsubishi is filling the role of “cheapest on the market” without making it look (or feel, hopefully) like it wears that title. Budget-conscious buyers who need the extra space shouldn’t have to be relegated to penalty boxes.
This picks up where…
This is the only good application I’ve seen of this style.
Regarding the Alfa Romeo, “Dark Miron” is the finish, “5-Hole” is the name for the style.
But yes, they are easily my favorite modern wheel design.
“Why skulls? I mean what do skulls make you think of? Death, cannibals, beheading...um, pirates? I just can’t think of anything good about a skull.”
I haven't, but that sounds excellent!
I’ve been fixated on Porsche 968s lately so that’s my pick since there are already several great answers here.
Same reason we like cars - the world of watches is rife with rich history, beautiful design, brilliant craftsmanship, precision engineering, and cultural significance, not to mention the very direct connection of accurate time-pieces for racing.
Getting flashbacks of my Mk4 Golf’s hood latch - a needlessly complicated mechanism with a delicate plastic handle, just to make the release slightly more visible.
