I guess what I’m trying to say about Stargate is that it’s amusing but having watched 7(?) seasons of that show, I don’t have any strong memories. There are a few (like groundhog’s day episode) that were unique and played with interesting ideas, but all in all I remember almost nothing about the Goauld, or the

That part was good... unfortuantely it doesn’t take it anywhere... and I’ve only seen bits of the sequels, but I don’t think they did either.   Sentient zombies is a terrifying idea, and I’ve never seen a movie where it’s been used well.  (I’m including the Romero movies here too, which have all been terrible since

I’m not really a trek fan, but I’ll say STARGATE is much more entertaining than many of thes other series, but I really wanted something a bit more thought-provoking.  The instant I saw the first episode of BSG I knew I would never watch stargate again.

Now playing

They did make an alternate ending which is much better

I tried to watch Birdbox, but having kids, I got to the first scene where she tells her kids that they have to listen and do exactly what she says and I was like “welp, there’s not way in fuck that’s happening” and checked out.

to be fair, although I loved moments (the drag out fight through the suburbs to get a car and escaping the sewers were my favorites) I definitely agree with you.  However, the story was so good I could not stop playing.  And then ending blew me away.  One of the best video game endings of all time, one of the best

I have kids, and it’s almost impossible to keep their hands clean. And since they feel the need to touch us all the time (or wrestle, or hug, or kiss) after doing other gross things (example - my daughter likes to rub ketchup on her hotdog WITH HER FINGER. NO matter how much I punish her for this, she keeps doing it).

Yeah, she’s had a career that’s worse than her ability. I tried to watch Transcendence because she’s in it.... but I hate the scientists character whose actual expertise isn’t defined because the writer doesn’t know what he’s writing about... so I couldn’t get in to that one. She was really good in “everything must

I 100% completed PvZ1 on steam (although it’s no longer showing my last 2 achievements which is annoying) but I found PvZ2 to be too easy for a long time. I’m sure it got better, but after an hour of not being challenged I moved on to other puzzle games.

It looks like it was made by Namco, but the large arcade game from my youth that I miss was starblade. It doesn’t look like much now, but in ‘91 it’s everything I saved my money for. I once got to what I believe is the last boss, but ran out of quarters.

I had two students (from the same family) who came in to class at least once a week with a footlong meatball sub, sat in the front of the room so that I could smell the thing for an hour.  I will never eat subway again.

I just read Trevor Noah’s book about growing up in appartheid south africa.... and I was like “oh, shit, this is the worst dystopia ever”

I felt like the ending wrapped up a little fast.  I needed like 10 minutes for the character to come around on the whole thing... maybe a scene where he figures out who these people are before they get killed?  But interesting premise and worth my time.

Soooo I’m on the rare side that really likes “Life is Beautiful’? Yes, it’s comical and not 100% accurate, and I would argue less about the holocaust and more about a parent trying to protect their kids from the worst impulses of the world. I don’t think it was ever trying to give a first hand account of the camps.

Argghhh, so many good choices here. There’s Alyx Vance from HL2... who was the first character I ever saw who moved like a real person.

I watched the French film‘Delicatessen’ a few years ago by the director of Amelie (my wife loves Amelie) and thought it had a very cute love story. But it is also a bout a dystopian society where the rich each people who stay at the butchers house, and a socialist-esque uprising.... Needless to say my wife didn’t love

I think you would have to do more along the lines of ‘a case per season’ a la the Killing (which I haven’t seen) or the Wire.

If someone were to steal a time travel concept police procedural, i could easily see an adaptation of “The Gone World” by Tom Sweterlitcsh working, where you can’t travel backward in time..... But you can travel forward to a possible future, see the outcome of the case in one possible future, then return to current

We had a part time nanny for two years and she became a close friend of the family. Our kids were about the same age and she quickly became a family friend who we invited over for big holidays for several years after..... but our expectations list was really small, and included no housework (though she did clean some

Zombieland? Adventureland? I thought he was good in ‘the double’ (likable though...... meh),
