FYI, as I understand it, Unreal 3 has no out of the box support for android, but does have out of the box support for iOS. At least I know I saw an article a year or two ago somewhere which was talking about that, although I suppose it could have changed since then. That'd probably be why you don't see huge amounts…

to be blunt? unless you're authoring audio tracks the built in capabilities you'll find on any rig are perfectly adequate. my motherboard can output 7.1 audio over toslink already, and the drop in processing power is practically non-existent. why would I bother buying a sound card?
